2. WHAT SOCIAL GROUPS
FEATURE IN YOUR THRILLER
OPENING
The film is directed to young people like teenagers as in our film we have all
male people who are straight males who are aged between 16 to 18 years
old and also they're ethnicity is black and Asian.
We have a detective, a boss and a terrorist which means we have portrayed
each character very differently and it is very hard to be stereotypical as the
characters have been mixed around like a reverse formation we can not
easily see who is the boss, detective and terrorist we can only tell by what
they are all wearing.
3. THE DETECTIVE
You would usually expect white middle aged
men as detective but we have a black African
man who is aged around 16-18 which is odd
but you can easily see that he is a detective as
he is wearing office clothing just like detectives.
Just by seeing him wearing office detective
clothes we can see he has the most power in
my thriller opening but in the end he is chocked
to death by a shady character who we are
unaware of.
4. THE TERRORIST
Again we have a stereotypical twist because
instead of having a Asian and a middle eastern
character who is known for a terrorist we have a
black African American as a terrorist who is aged
between 16-18 which is unknown because we
don’t stereotype black African Americans terrorist
because of their lifestyle. He looks very shady
and mysterious within the opening as he looks
like the boss until he meets up with his boss who
tells him off and makes him look powerless. In
the end the terrorist shows how much power he
has as he chocks the detective to death and
leaves him their dead. A murder is usually
covered up by throwing or storing the dead body
in a unknown location but this one is to the
extreme as the terrorist leaves the body there to
show he has power and that he is not scared of
anyone.
5. THE BOSS
Once a again we expected something that
would be obvious but we didn’t get what
we expected. The boss is a Asian and
middle eastern 16 to 18 years old man. We
usually see middle aged white men as
bosses but we haven’t got one here. We
first and only see him in the first opening
when he tells off Andrew for being late like
all bosses and stating that there is “no
excuses”. He shows tremendous amount
of power to the terrorist as he looks down
to him. He shows power by telling of a
black man and as we expect from black
men we usually see them telling and
bossing people around.
