   ISS is interested in improving the company’s
    business model by leveraging technology.

   The company’s Systems Development Life Cycle
    will be the guide a for positive change to the IT
    enterprise.
SDLC At Work
    In the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
                   there are 5 steps.

        Systems Integration: Understand the Problem
        Systems Analysis: Understand the Solution
        Systems Design: Select and plan the best solution
        Systems Implementation: Deploy planned solution
        Systems Maintenance and Review: Performance metrics
        and continuous improvement

Sharepoint Project Overview


 Team E was hired as a consultant team to
  provide ISS with a COTS (commercial off the
  shelf) solution to meet the company’s short and
  long-term objectives.

 Company leaders recognize that enterprise tools
  such as SharePoint 2007 enable an organization
  to achieve unprecedented efficiencies in
  communications.
Scope of Project
   Implement MS SharePoint Sever to distribute training
    modules to company employees sponsored by the HR
    department.
   Install and integrate SharePoint within ISS’s enterprise.
   Provide original copies of all project documentation to the
    office of Integrated System Solution’s CIO.
   Develop and implement a security plan for the
    implementation.
   Develop and document a plan that demonstrates the steps
    that have to be executed to scale SharePoint for use across
    the ISS enterprise and to ensure that the system remains
    reliable and secure beyond the scope of this project.
Project Goals
1.   Develop capability for geographically disbursed company
     teams to engage with corporate training program modules
     from any location with an internet connection
2.   Improve project management activities with
     geographically disbursed teams
3.   Streamline business processes
4.   Improve employee productivity
5.   Improve employee knowledgebase
6.   Improve employee satisfaction
7.   Prepare for rapid growth in accordance with our strategic
     plan
Project Measures for Success
1.   The implementation meets the specifications
     noted in the scope statement on time and on
     budget.
2.   HR is able to distribute training to company
     employees via SharePoint.
3.   Employees are able to access corporate training
     modules from any location with an internet
     connection.
4.   Employees and other project stakeholders
     respond favorably to a satisfaction survey to be
     conducted three and six months after the
     implementation is complete.

 The  two types of documentation that
  will be generated because of this
  project are the system
  documentation and the user
  documentation.
 Helpdesk personnel need to be
  prepared for questions regarding
  access to specific areas (there are
  almost always issues related to
  permissions set up).
Summary
   Implementing SharePoint will enable ISS with
    optimizing its IT enterprise.

   The success of this project will be the impetus to
    scale SharePoint across the company’s IT
    enterprise to met corporate strategic business
    objectives.

Internal business processes need to be improved.  ISS is interested in improving the company’s business model by leveraging technology.  The company’s Systems Development Life Cycle will be the guide a for positive change to the IT enterprise.
  • 5. SDLC At Work In the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) there are 5 steps. Sharepoint Project Overview  Team E was hired as a consultant team to provide ISS with a COTS (commercial off the shelf) solution to meet the company’s short and long-term objectives.  Company leaders recognize that enterprise tools such as SharePoint 2007 enable an organization to achieve unprecedented efficiencies in communications.
  • 7. Scope of Project  Implement MS SharePoint Sever to distribute training modules to company employees sponsored by the HR department.  Install and integrate SharePoint within ISS’s enterprise.  Provide original copies of all project documentation to the office of Integrated System Solution’s CIO.  Develop and implement a security plan for the implementation.  Develop and document a plan that demonstrates the steps that have to be executed to scale SharePoint for use across the ISS enterprise and to ensure that the system remains reliable and secure beyond the scope of this project.
  • 8. Project Goals 1. Develop capability for geographically disbursed company teams to engage with corporate training program modules from any location with an internet connection 2. Improve project management activities with geographically disbursed teams 3. Streamline business processes 4. Improve employee productivity 5. Improve employee knowledgebase 6. Improve employee satisfaction 7. Prepare for rapid growth in accordance with our strategic plan
  • 9. Project Measures for Success 1. The implementation meets the specifications noted in the scope statement on time and on budget. 2. HR is able to distribute training to company employees via SharePoint. 3. Employees are able to access corporate training modules from any location with an internet connection. 4. Employees and other project stakeholders respond favorably to a satisfaction survey to be conducted three and six months after the implementation is complete.

Support and Maintenance  The two types of documentation that will be generated because of this project are the system documentation and the user documentation.  Helpdesk personnel need to be prepared for questions regarding access to specific areas (there are almost always issues related to permissions set up).
  • 16. Summary  Implementing SharePoint will enable ISS with optimizing its IT enterprise.  The success of this project will be the impetus to scale SharePoint across the company’s IT enterprise to met corporate strategic business objectives.
