Overview
The BTEC Level 3 National in Creative
Media Production (Television & Film)
provides the knowledge, understanding
and skills for students wishing to enter a
career in media. Students can follow the
course as a minor subject (equivalent to 1
A level) or a major subject (equivalent to
2 A levels). The course is designed to
offer students a specialised programme of
study to advance their career
opportunities within Film, Television and
New Media Technologies.

Work Experience
This is a fundamental element of the
course. The practical element of this
course allows students to put their media
knowledge into practice through
developing skills, e.g. managing client
expectations, working to deadlines,
collaborating as part of teams etc.
Students may visit CNN to experience a
live newsroom and multi-camera studio.
In addition, outside media professionals
come in to hear their pitches and give
feedback on their films. All students are
expected to complete a related work
experience placement during the course.
