2. From the preliminary task to the Final
Project, I have learnt how to use a number of
softwares on the Mac computers such as:
Final Cut Express
Adobe After Effects CS5
Adobe Fireworks CS5
Adobe Photoshop
This enabled me to create two successful
projects that will go towards my AS Media
Grade. The main aim for my preliminary
task was to include shot/reverse shot, match
on action and the 180 degree rule. We
showed this through a young lady going to
the salon and interacting with the women in
the salon. It contained humour, a range of
different camera angles and most
importantly what we had to include. My
Final Project was to create a opening to a
thriller film which we created with the idea
of ‘Revenge’ in mind. It contained scenes
which frightened the audience as well as
made them laugh whilst also leading them to
believe that revenge had been achieved
through the kidnapping of a girl and what
was yet to come would surprise us all.

3. In our Preliminary Task, we was told to include: match on action, shot reverse shot and the
180 degree rule. The first shot is our match on action whereby we showed the character
pushing the door open and walking through on the other side of the door. Luckily, we was able
to do shoot this correctly first time round. Our next shot was shot reverse shot whereby we
showed the back of one girl and the front of the other (and visa versa). This was easy as we
were fully aware how to shoot this and only had to think about the angle in which we was
shooting from. The 180 degree rule is a camera technique where by the the characters in a
scene should have the same left/right relationship to each other and not break it as it disrupts
the scene. We done this by showing the characters on one side of the line and remaining on
