5. Comparing to an online article
• The genres don’t change as they are both music articles. The way they are written is very
similar and have similar codes and conventions such as the language used, the colour,
pictures used.
• The audience is the same as both articles are about big pop stars so it will be for boys and
girls around the ages of 12-16 who are glued to the screen and know their way around the
internet. Making an online music magazine much more ideal and quicker for them to view.
• Both texts use bright colours and bold text on the cover. The article have words in common
as they are both about the same genre so they will have similarities. Both texts also have
pictures of the star that are quite big to make them stand out like Lady Gaga is on the last
article.
• Both messages are similar as they are the same genres and the meaning is the same. It is to
make the pop star the vocal point of it and to make them stand out getting the audience to
buy the magazine.
