The following list contains my duties at LAF - Middelburg:
PARTS SALES:
• Identify, and reorder of customer ordered and/or spare parts,
• Maintain inventory and track down rare parts for older machines and equipment,
• Assist customers and co-workers on machine diagrams in order to determine replacement parts, the stock
numbers and prices.
• Receive and fill telephone orders for parts,
• Prepare sales/picking slips for parts going out of stock,
• When working the parts counter, follows prescribed cash, credit, and check processing procedures,
• Sells parts and/or services to repair the problem and meet the customer's needs,
• Invoicing,
• Creating Sales Orders,
• Creating Quotes on request, and following up thereof, as well as submitting to customers
• Passing Credit Invoicing for goods returned
• Work In Progress analysis – Feedback and Follow ups on outstanding parts, quotes and parts to be
collected
• Maintain records related to sales, and related filing of all documents.
PRODUCT SUPPORT:
• Determines the correct replacement or spare part for a customer by inspecting the old part, having the
customer describe the problem and searching catalogs for part numbers and provide estimated prices,
according to the system. Explains to the customer how a part functions, demonstrate proper use of
equipment and provide advice and installation instruction to customers.
• In some settings, provide services and advise over the telephone.
COMPONENT CONTROL (WARRANTY PARTS):
• Pre – Examine returned parts for defects, core units, warranty parts, and damages before sending it to
Springs –

2. SERVICES:
• Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs.
• Process sales payments, and banking of cash payments at the branch
• Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or
customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
• Receive payment or obtain credit authorization,
• Banking of cash payments received from customers,
• Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available,
• Provide service technicians with parts and service kits as required,
• Book and remove, and all other assistance on jobs that might be required by the mining department to be
able to close a job, (MINING & EMT)
• Machine & Parts Services ,
• Assist customers with complaints and concerns and make sure the problem is corrected to both the
customer and company’s satisfaction,
• Treat customers fairly and with honesty, and demonstrate our commitment to superior customer service and
ethical business practices,
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, and other employees,
• Focus on Quality & Service,
STOCK /INVENTORY CONTROLLER:
• Stock shelves,
• Order parts from Head office or LEC – the shipping thereof and following up on arrival date
• Keep stockrooms organized.
• Take inventory of stock,
• Analysing Back orders
• Marking of store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems,
• Merchandising Store – Re-bin and Allocate,
• Try my best to Control stock inventory to ensure maximum sales and customer satisfaction,
• Transfer parts between Branches, and organising effective transport, and follows up on the parts
whereabouts until it reaches the customer,
• Verify receiving documents,
• Handles the outgoing parcels, that requires to go with a transport company (UTI etc)
• Supervising and Training of Storeman,
• Analysing Transit Warehouse,
CARE TAKER:
• Record every incident that occurs in the building, e.g. maintenance of the buildings (inside and outside),
power failure, water seepage, alarm ringing, and notify those responsible for appropriate follow-up action
• Any defect in any part of the building found during patrols are recorded, with exact locations clearly
specified, and photographed. Defects that require immediate repair are reported to those responsible
immediately
• Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, planning to prevent or handle these situations.

3. HEALTH & SAFETY:
• Control of fire extinguisher, should it be replaced – the ordering there and the ones in the branch to be kept
clear to ensure that they are not blocked at any time,
• Inspect workplaces and workplace equipment, such as oil spillage, to ensure they meet safety regulations
and to identify hazards and risks,
• Ensure personal protective equipment (such as hearing protection, dust masks, safety glasses, footwear
and safety helmets), is being issued according to regulations,
• Supply Technicians with consumables such as rags, paraffin, hand cleaner etc.
• Assist with the investigation of unsafe working conditions – example oil spillage of the company next door ,
study possible causes and recommend remedial action
TOOL STORE:
• Dispatch special tools to technicians for example a midlife on a machine,
• Keeping the store secure and locked,
• Examination of tools on return, inspect the condition thereof, working condition and clean.
• If it needs to be replaced due to breakage – new ones are ordered.
