Jr. Network Administrator/Desktop Support Lead:
NOC Servers - Duties include ensuring continuous heterogeneous server uptime and all
applications/services running effectively. The servers are Windows 2007, Windows 2003, and
Apple Servers. Responsible for Rack Server support including server prep, installations,
configurations and proper cabling including power management. Utilize Active Directory for
user creations, controls, and group access. Utilized Coyote Point load balancer. Responsible for
security including Astaro firewall and general software security at server level and individual
client workstations. Ensured DHCP and DNS functions working properly.
NOC Cabling – this entailed physical cable moves from server room to appropriate areas
namely front offices and warehouses. Tie off using RJ’s or Keystones using T568A
nomenclature of mainly CAT5/6 UTP cables. Appropriate labeling and testing from end to end
namely switch to end user jack/keystone.
NOC Backups – Responsibilities included proper back up jobs are set up and to ensure they are
running. Archive back up data and to retrieve data (disaster recovery) as needed.
Desktop Support – Responsible to apply group policy for users to authenticate and use only the
directory structure and folders/files needed. Create new user accounts. Archive and delete
terminated user accounts. Deactivate certain areas from all users while providing these restricted
sites only to a selected few users. Provide general help desk support including software
application; hardware; phone; remote access; fax; printers; and whatever the user community
needed assistance in. Ensure correct network connectivity both via Ethernet Cable and/or
wireless connection.
Technical Support and RMA – provide technical support to both internal and external
customers via EBAY or retail correspondences; telephone and email support. Duties included all
aspects of technical support for all our products. Where appropriate, I had to set up a Return
Merchandise Authorization number and bring the product in house and consequently repair,
replace, or refund. Responsible to provide the on going status of the RMA and outbound
shipments. Job entailed a lot of liaison and mediator work between Repair Technicians,
customers, and EBAY or Retail sales staff.
2. Purchases/Asset Control – involved in forecasting and feasibility study analysis on future
purchases. Ensure accurate record keeping via asset tagging of all in-house equipments. Tagging
new and existing assets and submitting reports to responsible parties. Accurate record keeping of
obsolete or removed and/or replaced items.
IP Cameras – extensively involved in working with the third party to configure and install
security cameras inside and outside the facility. Help with trouble shoot and fine tuning.
Responsible to keep the camera system up and recording. Make sure the POE switch and the
recording servers are up and running. View and or download certain cameras with time stamps as
needed. Set up Exacq mobile app on mobile phones as needed for Senior Management and IT
personnel.
