I am an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong
ability to deal and communicate with an extensive range of people of all ages. I would consider my
managerial style to be firm but fair in my professional environment. I believe in taking development
opportunities to further my career. I am well organised and focused person who can adapt well to

Working Experience:
Area Manager| Sutton Catering Services |2003-Present
In my current role of Area Supervisor my overall purpose is to assist the Operations Manager with
the efficient day to day management of Catering Services at the locations operated by Sutton
Catering Services.
My main responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
- Assisting with the promotion and marketing of the service to all customers, inclusive of
annual presentations.
- To deputise for the Operations Manager in his or her absence.
- Undertaking daily supervision of a team of forty.
- Monitoring staff performance against agreed targets and objectives, dealing with staffing
issues and ensuring compliance of corporate policies and procedures.
- Assist with the delivery of staff training and development by identifying needs through
regular reviews and identifying the appropriate training intervention to meet required need.
- Undertake the staff inductions, reviews and annual appraisals with staff within the units.
- Assisting with the recruitment of staff, including calculation of staff needs in regards to
specific catering/service requirements.
- To assist staff with the accurate completion of trading accounts and other financial
administrative tasks.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with all customers.
- Assist Operations Manager with the planning of menus ensuring that statutory nutritional
standards are met.
- Assist Operations Manager in identifying ways in which the service can be developed and
marketed to all our customers. This involves taking part in organised events e.g. Theme Days.
- To assist in the planning and subsequent opening of new and refurbished units within the
service, whether this is to be traditional or regeneration.
- To ensure compliance with the department's Health & Hygiene Code of practice, Quality
Management System and HACCP procedures.
- To investigate incidents or accidents within units and to make sure they are accurately
reported.
- To assist with the planning and catering of special functions.
Caterer Trainer and Supervisor| Sutton Catering Services| Carshalton| 2001-2003
In my role as Catering Trainer and Supervisor I was responsible for training Caterers on all
tasks listed below in my role as Caterer. One of the highlights of this role was spending a
month with 10 members of staff at a High School after their refurbishment and creating and
implementing a new menu. I trained each individual on each section. After I left I continued
to monitor the menu and standard of work to ensure all that implemented was still being
adhered to.
Caterer | Sutton Catering Services| Carshalton| 1998-2001
My first role when I joined Sutton Catering Service in 1998 consisted of managing a school
kitchen as a Caterer. The general purpose of the job was the provision of meals for several
sites in line with Sutton Catering policies and procedures within the resources available. I
was responsible for ensuring 1000 meals were distributed to kitchens across the borough
inclusive of the school I was based at. All meals were produced to a high quality and standard
and ensuring the provision of special diets where required. As it was a Central Production
unit I would also be responsible for helping the other schools in the borough if any problems
were to arise.
My responsibilities included:
- Managing a team of eight staff members, this involved delegating and supervising.
- Ordering stock for our unit
- Ensuring all invoices matched the deliver
- Monitoring the kitchen budget
- Trialling recipes when creating new menus and collating the results.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen met Health and Hygiene standards.
- Building good relationships with all stakeholders within the schools.
- Completion of weekly and monthly paperwork which included: recording of staff
and pupil numbers, creating an accurate sales mix book to ensure the correct number of meals
are produced on a daily basis and all recipes and portion sizes are adhered to .This would also
ensure that the customer would always have a choice of food on offer. All invoices would be
checked and all goods received per week would be documented and calculated to ensure the
meals produced to the meals accounted for were accurate to the budget allocations.
- Reporting equipment and maintenance problems to the Client/Head Office and school as
appropriate.
- Organising special functions on an occasional basis.

Glenthorne High School for Girls| Sutton 1984-1990
Received GCSE B and C grades in: English, Mathematics and Home Economics
Interests:
I enjoy experimenting with cooking, spending quality time with my family and spending as
much time as I can supporting Fulham Football Club with my season ticket.
