1. Question 3:
Panic Productions is my thriller production company that represents all thriller and horror
genres, in this case my production company will be focusing on a thriller storyline. I chose
the word ‘panic’ not only because it sounds catchy and will be easier to remember but
because the word ‘panic’ itself symbolises the dark and sinister times in an individual’s life
causing and uncontrollable and uncomfortable fear of anxiety leading to widely thinking
behaviour. This is what I believe defines what thrillers are all about, also as the production
company is an independent distributor and has a low budget we had stuck to panic
productions and included it in the production logo itself as we wanted it to be simple yet
affective we chose bright and bold colours. We thought that having a bold font and the colour
red was relevant to a thriller as it connotes danger and sinister movements The production of
Panic productions I would advise collaborating with bigger companies when producing the
thriller as it would get a bigger audience review, an example would be merging with the
production company paramount. Paramount had collaborated with the independent film blum
house to create the film paranormal activity. Whereas when distributing the film it would be
better if we join with another smaller production company, an example of an independent
production company like ours is the ‘Hammer productions’. Hammer films are based on
horror and psychological thrillers and has similarities to my thriller production logo as it too
has bold red writing. As ‘Panic productions’ are a small independent Like Hammer
productions it would be ideal to collaborate with Hammer productions when distributing the
thriller or opening as we have equal budgets and similar ideas, it wouldn’t be a good idea to
collaborate with larger companies when distributing the thriller.
