INTRUDERS Opening Title Sequence
This is music from an American professional thriller opening
called intruders sequence, having analysed the intruders’
thriller music as I feel that tension and anxiety builds
throughout the opening evenly and substantially. This piece
of music I feel would represent a thriller opening well due to it
having a climax and an anti-climax, helping the audience to feel a ray of emotions at
the start. The opening music starts off with a slow pace and a steady consistent beat
which will captivate the audience member as it is calm and collective, when reaching
about 19 seconds the pace of the music begins to increase meaning the levels of
tension and suspense increases leading to a high anticipation of the audience
member. This is something I am interested in including it in my own thriller opening
as I feel like a continuous beat and the same throughout the thriller will become
boring and the audience will become disinterested in the thriller. At the end of the
thriller opening there was a Sharpe loud noise which foreshadowed that the
upcoming scenes were not pleasant which is essentially what a thriller is about
(unpleasant scenes). Also as the end had a loud bang it could suggest that there
may be a huge plot twist at the end which is another factor of a thriller. This is
something that I will also consider (a loud finale) as my thriller or any thriller for that
matter doesn’t have a happy storyline or ending.

Thriller Opening Title Sequence
This thriller opening is an opening done by media students, having analysed their
music choice it shows that they have one steady beat throughout the thriller opening
without any changes. This is something I don’t want as it can come across as boring
which means that the audience members will be disinterested. However, I believe
that a steady beat can increase the amount of tension and anxiety
sub-consciously which is something that I am interested in as I don’t
want the tension increase to be obvious because then I believe it
loses its effectiveness. The pace and tempo I feel is at the same
level throuought not like the intruders thriller opening.
Evaluating both thriller music styles helps me get a wider renge of ideas that I wish to
include in my own thriller opening, for examlple I want a clear back beat but I don’t
want it to be the only noise, I wish ti add some high pitch sounds and low pitch
sounds as I think that it worked really well with intruders. High pitch sounds cause
many people to feel uncomfertable as it usually isnt a pleasant sound, and the low
pitch causes anxiety as a low sound connotes danger.
