Digital citizenship refers to appropriate and responsible behavior when using technology. Elements of digital citizenship include etiquette and communication. Some technology driving rules are to start with common sense, be courteous, think before posting, only photograph or video people with their consent, keep passwords confidential, and make parents aware of online activities for wisdom and guidance. Schools expect online behavior to mirror school behavior, respect privacy, treat technology access as a privilege, access only permitted files, treat technology with respect, alert adults about inappropriate content, and show respect when collaborating online.
