Are Your Goals Working
For You?
I am going to share with you how
to make sure that the goals you
set for your business are effective
and will actually for you.
Sometimes we set the wrong goals
and don't see any success.
If a goal is going to make a
difference for you in your business
then there are 3 things it must
follow:
You need to have complete
control of the goal.
You need to be able to control
the outcome.
If you are relying on someone else
then you may never reach your
goal!
Often in business you have to rely
on other people to do their part in
a particular process and if your
goal is to achieve something that
is dependent on someone else
performing their task then you
can't realistically set that as your
goal.
You could set it as a goal for your
company as a whole but for your own
personal goals it wont' work.
If you work alone then it is much
easier to set goals as everything
depends on you!
However, don't overwhelm
yourself – make sure your goals
are realistic in terms of the time
taken to achieve it.
Motivation
Your goals must also motivate you in
some way.

If you set yourself a goal to complete a
particular task and it is something that
you hate doing one of two things will
happen:
Either you will get it done quickly
because you want it over and done
with or…
You will find every excuse to focus on
a different goal and the original one
will never get done.
So in order to complete that task you
either need to outsource it to someone
else if that is possible or you need to
give yourself some form of motivation
to get it done.
You could promise yourself a treat if
you complete the goal or something
that you really want and therefore will
be motivated to achieve that goal.
Be Specific
Any goal you set yourself must be
relevant and specific to your business.

It must be a goal that will build your
business in some way.
Setting yourself a goal of working 3
hours a day on your business is not
really going to work.
Being busy is not necessarily building
your business!
You could be very busy researching
online for something that is connected
to your business and believe you have
been busy working for 3 hours when at
the end of that time you have done
nothing that will have any impact on
your business at all!

Are your goals working for you?

  • 1. Are Your Goals Working For You?
  • 2. I am going to share with you how to make sure that the goals you set for your business are effective and will actually for you. Sometimes we set the wrong goals and don't see any success.
  • 3. If a goal is going to make a difference for you in your business then there are 3 things it must follow: You need to have complete control of the goal.
  • 4. You need to be able to control the outcome. If you are relying on someone else then you may never reach your goal!
  • 5. Often in business you have to rely on other people to do their part in a particular process and if your goal is to achieve something that is dependent on someone else performing their task then you can't realistically set that as your goal.
  • 6. You could set it as a goal for your company as a whole but for your own personal goals it wont' work.
  • 7. If you work alone then it is much easier to set goals as everything depends on you! However, don't overwhelm yourself – make sure your goals are realistic in terms of the time taken to achieve it.
  • 8. Motivation Your goals must also motivate you in some way. If you set yourself a goal to complete a particular task and it is something that you hate doing one of two things will happen:
  • 9. Either you will get it done quickly because you want it over and done with or… You will find every excuse to focus on a different goal and the original one will never get done.
  • 10. So in order to complete that task you either need to outsource it to someone else if that is possible or you need to give yourself some form of motivation to get it done. You could promise yourself a treat if you complete the goal or something that you really want and therefore will be motivated to achieve that goal.
  • 11. Be Specific Any goal you set yourself must be relevant and specific to your business. It must be a goal that will build your business in some way. Setting yourself a goal of working 3 hours a day on your business is not really going to work.
  • 12. Being busy is not necessarily building your business! You could be very busy researching online for something that is connected to your business and believe you have been busy working for 3 hours when at the end of that time you have done nothing that will have any impact on your business at all!
