2. Students are given the choice of a group of tasks to complete to demonstrate and
extend their learning
Each choice targets a different learning style or preference
Alternatively the rows can be arranged by difficulty
Choices are arranged on a tic tac toe board
Students must choose 3 squares (choices) in a row
3. Each choice focuses on the important concepts of the material
Students can choose how they demonstrate their knowledge
4. Students can choose the “easy way” even if they are capable
Requires some creativity on the part of the teacher to address each learning style
with an activity
