During site visit we have asked workers several questions to workers. They
answered these questions and we try to show these by this slide.

5. 1.Which areas are covered by this Transfer Station?
-The covered area are Raza bazar,Tejturi bazaar,Indrira Road,Monipuripara.
2.How is solid waste collected at Primary stage?
-Solid waste is collected by van at Primary stage.
3.How many vans are used for collecting solid waste?
-There are about 60 vans collecting solid waste form residential building.
Each van can carry 500 kg solid waste.
4.How many labors are working there for this Transfer Station?
-About 220 labors are working for this system.
5.How many female workers work are working there?
-Ten female workers are working there.

6. 6.Where are these solids waste carried away for final disposal?
-These solid waste are carried away for final disposal at savar Baliarpur.
7.Which organization leads the Transfer stations and workers?
-Dhaka City Corporation and private NGO are leading the transfer station and workers.
8.When is the duty time of these workers?
-The duty time of these workers is 4 am to 10 pm.
9.How much salary do they get for this job?
-The salary is Ten thousand taka.
10.How much bonus do they get on Eid festivals?
-They get about five thousand taka on Eid festival.
11.Do they get any holidays?
-No holiday, except only 1 day per year.

7. 12.How was the environment of this transfer station?
-The environment condition was damp and creating odor from organic waste. The place
is not hygienic, unsafe and unprotected. It may cause health rick for the workers.
13.Do they get affected any disease?
-At early stage of working they affected water borne disease.
14.Is there any impact of their personal life for this occupation?
-The answer is yes. People often ignored them. Generally people called them moila
wala. Maximum workers family member do not know that they are doing these job.
They also disagree to take a photo with us. They face lack of social values.
15.How are they collecting and managing waste?
-They collecting solid waste without proper protection of musk ,hand gloves.

8. 16.Do they get injured while working?
-Most often they get injured by blades, sharp material. They wear shoe while
working.
17.Do they get proper sanitation system and drinking water facilities?
-No. The sanitation system lies beside the transfer station and is very unhygienic.
There lies a poor quality water supply system.

13. This is the sign of injury of a worker.He feels pain at hos leg and this leg does not
response a healthy man leg.

14. After seperation of inorganic waste from organic waste ,they sold inorganic waste
in a warehouse store.
