The document summarizes the efforts of a group called "I CAN EKLAVYA" to address garbage issues in the Mangnath Road shopping area. The group observed large amounts of mixed garbage with no garbage bins. They proposed solutions like banning plastic, providing separate bins for biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, and using biodegradable waste for energy. The group then held an awareness campaign in local shops to educate about garbage sorting and reducing plastic use, encouraging people to be the change for a cleaner city.
We cannot change the whole world overnight, even if we may want to! But small steps, taken together, are powerful enough to make a difference...want to join us?
Here is Daily Dump's take on how India can really become "Swachh"....

1. OBJECTIVE
To create a prototype of ‘AUTOMATIC TRASH COMPACTOR’
2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Any where a lot of trash is generated, the automatic trash compactor offers a compelling solutions that is more environmentally preferable and operationally efficient!
This uses the sun energy to automatically compact trash at the point of disposal, dramatically increasing capacity 5 times within the same footprint as ordinary receptacles.
Increased capacity reduces collection trips and can cut related fuel use and emissions by 80%. Enclosed design keeps pests out and litter in.
Can be installed successfully in urban street, parks, colleges, sports venues and in all weather conditions.
Offers Dramatically Lower Lifetime Operational Costs
Depending on collection frequency, your standard ornamental bin is costing you between $7,300 and $30,000 over it’s lifetime! compactor lifetime operational costs are significantly lower, between $6,000 and $12,000. it uses solar power to compact trash at the point of disposal, increasing capacity by five times and reducing operational costs by up to 80%. In addition to lower costs associated with trucks, fuel and labor, it reduces green house gas and other harmful emissions.
3. LITERATURE
Humans have always had an impact on their surroundings. Garbage is one of our biggest effects on nature. Unlike other animals, humans create too much waste for nature to keep up. Total amount of solid waste in India is 65-70 million tons per year. Almost 42 percent of that garbage is in paper wastes. With the continually rising of the earth’s population, the situation is going to get harder and harder to slow it down, or fix it. With garbage comes pollution; from the burning of garbage we are destroying the atmosphere just as fast as we are just leaving the garbage on the ground. When you burn garbage it gives off extremely poisonous gases into the atmosphere. If a person breathes this air it can hurt their lungs and if untreated can result in cancers or even death. Even if we burry our garbage not all of it will decompose, as there are some material needs centuries to decompose. By polluting the ground it can seep into our farming soil and even into our ground water, which can cause dramatic consequences.
Compacting trashes is considered a great solution for the problem of throwing garbage as it was examined in well developed countries and solved the problem of thrown garbage in the streets or burning extra garbage which is the same problem that India is facing, and in result it also reduce the pollution amount due to the smoke of burning garbage and the diseases caused because of the uncovered garbage in streets where people walk through and others live nearby

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. STEP – 1
Area – Mangnath Road shopping market
DISASTER:
This area is very narrow and famous for shopping. It is
generally crowded in evenings. We saw people careless and
showing neglegence about the garbage thrown there by
everyone which included both bio degradable and non
biodegradable wastes like
• plastic cups after having tea in it.
• leftover of rotten fruits and vegetables unsold.
• animals' dung.
• polyethene bags.
• Empty bottles of soft drinks.
• Wrappers of various edible items.
• People spitting after chewing tobbaco.
3. HAZARDS:
• Stray animals eating this plastic causes their death
• Lots of non biodegradable waste deposition emitting
dangerous radiations and causing pollution and harmful
health hazards.
• Even biodegradable waste causing spread of microbes and
thus prove to be vectors for many diseases.
• Biodegradable waste being good source of energy is
wasted which can be otherwise used as a source of
energy.
• Spitting here and there is responsible for the spread of
many dreadful diseases.
• Thus none of the things that we are seeing today are
free from pollution. The air we breathe, the soil which
nurtures our plants and the water that we drink and
also use to cultivate our plants.
4. GARBAGE AS SEEN BY US.
There is so much of garbage that there is no
space for parking and walking too.
5. The flow of the garbage is so much but there
is no dustbin in that area.
7. All kind of garbage you can find here but not
a dustbin.
8. STEP – 2
IMAGINATION
1) By Seeing all this we thought for taking the
initiative towards a new city, green city and clean
city.
2) As plastic is non – biodegradable waste, it cannot
decompose.So, government should ban plastic,
and give an alternative for the same
3) We should make dustbins mandatory at in the shops
and huge dustbins at regular distance which should
be disposed off on regular basis.
4) Cleaning Department has also its responsibility to
clean dustbins.
9. 7) If we collect the biodegradable waste, we can not
only use its gas for cooking but also the slurry can be
used as a best fertilizer.
8) There should be 2 separate dustbins provided by
municipal corporations. One should of biodegradable
waste and other of non – biodegradable waste.
9) By following these steps, we can make our city,
clean, healthy & prosperous.
10. STEP – 4
PLANNING
1) We have decided to go to Mangnath road and clean
that area and spread awareness about its illeffects
among the people by organising an awareness campaign.
After the campaign we will also take an oath to keep the
city clean and tidy.
11. Awareness Campaign
We had planned to start our campaign from Azad Chowk.
We had reached there at 9:30 AM.
We had divide our group members in a team of 5 pupil.
From Azad chowk, we started Campaign.
We all have made a policy that we will talk with the
shopkeepers politely and try to create interest.
We had gone to various kind of shops such as grossery,
selling electrical material, vendors selling vegetables and
fruits, cycle store, florists, medical stores, bakery, etc….. .
The above mention can be referred as factory of
spreading plastic of various types .
12. During the caimpaign we were not shaken up by
the negative feedback.
We also encouraged people to use paper bags or
cloths bags.
Thus with this caimpaign we thank our school
management to make us think divergent and make
us think that we are the citizens of our country
and we should take the initiative and responsibility
for a better tommorow. Be it cleanliness or
corruption, traffic or parking, or any other
problems we should take the initiative towards the
solution of the problem instead of blaming others
or waiting for others to change.
Yes, We would be the change that we wish to see in
the world...
