2. Globally, approximately 170,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 caused
by the 2019 corona virus have been reported, including an estimated 7,000 deaths in
approximately 150 countries. On March 11, 2020. COVID-19–associated illness and death than
are younger persons.
In 2019 the Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak was first discovered from
Wuhan city, Hubei province, China in early December 2019. On January 30, 2020 The World
Health Organization declared it to be a Global Health Emergency of International. As of 31
January 2020, the disease was confirmed in more than 9,000 patients in all 31 provinces of
China and 138 patients in 23 other countries and regions, and deaths have been confirmed that
around 213 patients from China and 1 patient from Hong Kong died from the corona virus
pandemic. Previously on 23 January 2020 Wuhan has set a lockdown status to reduce the
spread of the corona virus outbreak. However, during the Chinese New Year before, the
massive human movement caused the corona virus pandemic increasingly spread to various
regions.
As time goes, the corona virus pandemic has spread throughout the world, one of which
is Indonesia. On March 2, 2020, President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo reported
the first confirmed two cases of corona virus (COVID-19) infection in Depok. In the end of
March, 2020 President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo decided to implement large-
scale social distancing aslo known as PSBB(Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar) in provinces
and cities. The government also emphasizes all Indonesian citizen to stay at home to reduce
number of positive patient. As of 2 April 2, 2020, the country has reached 1790 positive cases
of corona virus (COVID-19), with 170 number of death, and 112 number of recoveries.
Day by day cases of infection with the coronavirus in Indonesia continue to increase
tremendously. As of 18 June, 2020 the cases has reached 41.431 positive patient, and followed
by 16.243 patient recovered, with 2.276 death. With the data that has been reported, this shows
that the lack of public awareness in complying with government directives related to the corona
virus, even though the government has obliged to always wear masks and be diligent to wash
hands or use hand sanitizers, and only go out for urgent purposes then the most important thing
is keep distance from others people. For health institutions, the government has prepared APD
for medical personnel who treat patients with corona virus disease.
3. The corona virus pandemic has affected educational system worldwide, around 862
million and young people affected. Leading to widespread closures of schools, universities,
and colleges for indefinite period. This causes students to study at home, when talking about
learning from home in this millennial era, students must indirectly use the internet as a learning
tool for online classes, but not all students have the internet facility, thus this corona virus
pandemic has a negative and positive impact. Some students think that learning from home is
not very effective and the quality is not the same as the quality of class in general.
This corona virus pandemic not only impacts the education system but also affects the
workplace and business, as a result many workers stayed at home, commonly known as work
from home. thus the economy in almost every country becomes unstable, many companies or
workplaces choose the path of mass dismissal, to maintain the viability of a company or
workplace, consequently the unemployment and crime rates increased.
Corona Virus outbreak has changed the pattern of human life drastically, which could
have shaken hands with the emergence of the corona virus outbreak shaking hands is no longer
possible, this plague must pass as long as there is cooperation between the government and the
community, by obeying government officials such as periodically hand washing or use hand
sanitizers, wear masks, and keep a safe distance between people. If government officials are
obeyed, the spread of this outbreak can be minimized and we might be able to return to our
activities as before, and students can study at school as usual. Because in my opinion online
schools have far more assignments than classes in general. We hope that this epidemic will
pass quickly so that we can carry out activities as usual.
