1. Production of our company logo
We first of all started by thinking of a company name that would relate to our
genre of movie and that would also appeal to our target audience of mainly
young adults and so we would then be able to include our company name in
our own logo. We tried to think of unique names and thought of the Blue
Panther Productions name. We decided that this was a good name for multiple
reasons:
It was fitting to our target audience of young male adults. The colour use
of blue was therefore a good colour that our target audience would like
as it is a colour that we would think that many young males would like
and is a popular colour with a lot of people so this could therefore make
our logo and company name more interesting to the audience and
therefore persuade them to watch our movies.
The panther is also a dangerous animal which with things such as Puma
which make sporty clothing and trainers that would appeal to a young
audience so we thought that we would also implement this idea to
appeal to our young adult audience so we used the idea of a familiar,
dangerous animal which was the panther.
The idea of a panther which is seen as a dangerous, vicious animal
relates to our genre as it presents an idea of fear which is also similarly
felt in our horror movie, we also wanted to present some type of tension
when you see the word panther and so this would make our idea of a
horror movie stand out more.
When creating our company name we also created an image in our head
of what style of logo we were going for, this was mainly a blue image of
something panther like with the title of our company. We played
around on Photoshop a bit with images we got from the internet and we
created multiple logos that would fit with our target audience and
chosen genre, we came up with 2 main logos which we would decide to
have as our main logo.
2. This was our first design that we did on Photoshop, we used a font that
was downloaded from the internet for free, the font was called Feral and
we thought that this went with the panther idea so we stuck with this
font as it fits our genre and our target audience. To create it we put in a
black background using Photoshop and then got multiple paw shaped
images off the internet and copy and pasted them in and arranged them
as shown above we then went over and changed the colour to blue and
then inserted the feral font text underneath and used the gradient
option to create a white and blue gradient in the text. We thought about
ways on how we could make it better and fitting to our company name
and came up with the image below.
Similarly like the last image we had a black background as this
contrasted well with the blue panther and the blue feral font. We
decided that this was the preferable image as it shows the panther
3. image so that the audience will recognise the company without even
looking at the name. To make this logo we did the same with the text
only we got rid of the gradient and positioned it differently so that it
used up all the blank spaces of the canvas, we then changed to a
picture of a panther and put this in the centre, we made this image
an overlay and we used a magnetic tool to shape the panther, we
then created a new layer and coloured it in blue in the shape of the
panther, we changed the panther image to an overlay layer so that
the blew showed through and turned the panther blue. After
messing about with the other blending options we decided on one
more thing to make it look even better.
This was our final and chosen design for our company logo, the white
glow creates an outline effect round the text and the panther making
it stand out more and looks even better than the bland outline that
was on there before.
