The film I will be analysing is resident Evil the opening scene to this film is unlike
most others, no main actors are mentioned at the start, just the three companies
involved with the production of the film.. then a brief synopsis (well just facts)
are stated at the start of the film, these facts will give the audience vital
information to follow the films plot.
The film starts with a very slow, dark and dingy zoom, this will captivate the
audience as the setting appears to be remote and unheard of, the zoom effect
works well at this moment in time, because the closer the camera gets to the
target, the more the audience learns about the specific location as more items
come into view distance, the audience has a basic level of knowledge on the
location.
The opening sequence shows a suspicious looking man, who appears to be
stealing a very contaminated substance, as he broke one, you could see a strange
fume go through the vent of the laboratory and then the camera fades, t he editor
has done this to keep the audience on edge, and curiosity will overwhelm the
audience.
