2. I began the front cover
process with a picture of
Sam Nolan on Photoshop.
I had to use the lasso tool
to carefully crop around
him to produce the front
cover image .
3. After cutting Sam
out, I had to scale
him down to a
relatively suitable
size using the
“CTRL +T” tool in
order to re-size the
image.
4. Once I had the image
cropped, I then applied
this turquoise and
yellow background as I
believed that these
colours where
connotations of EDM
music
5. The next step for me
was simple as I just
added the relevant
featured texts.
6. Here is the first
draft of my front
cover, presented
to my teacher. I
asked for verbal
feedback on how
I could change it
and how I could
potentially
improve it.
7. Once receiving
feedback, I was
told to change
the background
colour as well as
the image, as I
used Sam for
my double page
spread.
8. This is the new
background
which I created
by going into a
dark room and
getting a friend to
wave glow sticks
as I took a still
image.
9. I replaced
the image
with another
friend called
Declan as I
was unable
to use Sam
as he was
featuring in
the double
page spread
10. Here is my final
finished
design. I
placed all the
text back onto
the cover and
altered the
colour to white
in order to
make the text
visible.
11. Upon receiving
feedback for my
final front cover. I
made a few new
alterations. I
added an
ominous, white
glow around
Declan and also
changed the font
and the text
colour to give off
a proper EDM
magazine vibe
