“That’s twice you’ve broken your promise,” cried the caterpillar. “Forgive me,” begged the tadpole. “I could not help it.
I do not want these arms… All I want is my beautiful rainbow.” “And all I want is my shiny black pearl. I will give you
one last chance.” said the caterpillar.

Learning activities for Year 1

  • 1. The first few slides show some general things that we do everyday and can be a fun way to keep up with your learning. Mrs R, Mr T, Mrs W & Mrs M x
  • 2. We would normally spend 15-20 mins a day on phonics. We are currently working on Phase 5 however across the week please enjoy playing on Phase 3, 4 and 5 games using Phonics Play.
  • 3. Please enjoy listening to or reading stories as often as you can. Have a go at using espresso or other websites to view online books.

  • 6. Day 1 Independent writing In your green book use a pencil to write sentences about the picture. Remember • Capital letters • Full stops • Finger spaces • Neat handwriting
  • 7. We use phonic mats like this to practise recognising sounds. We also use them for reading and writing 
