2. Spelling test and phonics
This week we have decided to set 10 spellings for you to work on each day (Monday –Friday) Perhaps
you can have a mini-test each day and use a look, cover, write, check method on any you are finding
difficult in preparation for the next day when you will be tested again.

In phonics this week we will work on:
Spelling rules: the suffixes –less, and –ly when added to the end of a word. Here are some words to
practise... badly, hopeless, happily, lovely, slowly, quickly, careless, fearless. Practise writing
them, so that you are confident at spelling them. Also write each word into a sentence.

Attached to the year 2 page this week there is a pdf time capsule booklet which can be printed out.
We would like you to complete the booklet over the next two weeks with your family and make a time
capsule for it to go in. When we return to school we would like you to bring in your covid19 booklet
and time capsule to share with the rest of the class.
