2. Target Audience
The target audience for my music magazine, is
teenage boys and girls between the ages of
about 13-18. I chose this because I thought that
these are most likely to be the people that would
read a pop music magazine. I think that this age
group also allows for a lot of freedom within the
layout and text of the magazine. This is because
the target audience has a wide range of views
and levels of maturity.
3. Target Audience
The gender of my target audience is both boys
and girls. I thought this was a good decision
because it left a larger target audience and meant
I could experiment with different ideas. I also
believe that both genders have an interest in this
genre of music. However, using both genders did
mean that I had to be careful with the colours
chosen and the text/content used. I found that I
couldn’t use pink as that is seen as predominantly
female colour. So I decided that blue, white, red
and black would be suitable colours as these are
fitting for both genders.
4. Target Audience
A stereotypical Pop fan is portrayed as wearing
the latest fashion and stylish. They are seen as
wearing simple but bright colours. They often
wear accessories like caps and jewellery. They
will wear branded items like Obey, Supreme, Jack
wills, Superdry, Ralph Laruen, hype and ratchet.
They often have a keen interest in music and will
tend to watch shows like X-factor and download
music online. These are the sort of people that
are likely to purchase my magazine.
