Questionnaire analysis

  1. 1. QuesTionnaire Analysis
  2. 2. Favourite Genre This chart shows that the majority of people that I question preferred the genre of Pop and they also are quite interested in Rock. This helped me to decide which genre of music my magazine will be aimed for, which will be a pop, however, I have also decided to incorporate some rock into the magazine. The answers don't match up to the number of people I asked because some people answered more than one.
  3. 3. Favourite Artist These answers showed me what type or artists are popular at the moment. I can see from my results that Ed Sheeran is popular at the moment and his music is of the pop and indie rock genre. Mumford and Sons and Laura Marling have more folk based music. This helps me to determine what type of artists could be featured on the front cover as it will appeal to my audience.
  4. 4. Favourite Colour Scheme These answers indicate to me which colour scheme is most liked by my target audience (16-18) year olds. I really like the colour scheme of Red, Black and white as it will add a rock look to the magazine, also, it goes with the idea that I have in mind with my front cover. I did have the choice of suggestions on my questionnaire and only Blue, White and black was suggested, I wont use this suggestion as its not favoured by others. Black and White was also very popular choice with the people who answered the questionnaires.
  5. 5. Price The results show me that the audience opt for the cheapest price for the magazine. This could be because people have a limited amount of disposable income, especially 16/17 year olds. This could also be because people search for value for money. I will have to make my magazine in the £2.30 - £2.50 range and make sure the magazine is value for money.
  6. 6. Frequency This shows me that people think that the music magazine should come out every two weeks. I feel this is a good idea because the magazine could get more content and develop the content more. People could have chosen this because they might not buy music magazines very often. The results were also very tight with the other options. Monthly was very close to Fortnightly and this shows that the people aren't particularly interested in purchasing music magazines.
  7. 7. Favourite Music Magazine I can infer from these results that people don’t generally read or are interested in music magazines. The top result was ‘clash’ magazine and this shows that I could get some design ideas and inspiration from the magazine. This works well as I like the design and layout of ‘Clash’ magazine.
