‘Professional Profile’
Jamie More
Introduction:
Kia ora my name is Jamie More and I consider myself to be a Management, Marketing and Sales professional. The
following profile outlines the personal and professional development I have experienced and achieved over a 30+
year working career.
A summary of Jamie’s work life experience
Jamie’s business experience spans over a quarter of a century. To start with he worked in the Hospitality Industry,
namely Food & Beverage for 17 years. This included many senior supervisory and management positions. Through
this experience Jamie became well grounded in first-rate and superior customer service delivery. As a result he was
able to cultivate repeat sales activity and generate strong customer loyalty. Jamie’s warmth and sincerity further
enhanced the buying experience for the customers and guests in his care.
After a sporting accident in 1993 Jamie was unable to work in his chosen vocation, but quickly turned to adult
training in the industry he had excelled at, Hospitality. It was during this time Jamie was able to hone his
presentation skills and branch out into associated fields. Including computer training, time management and
business focused service modules. During this time Jamie attended an N.Z.Q.A approved “Certificate in Adult
Teaching” with the Christchurch College of Education.
In 1997 after managing and restructuring a successful local restaurant Jamie was head hunted by Rockgas New
Zealand. As a leading sales contributor Jamie was promoted to a “Residential Business Sales Representative”. His
success in this role was underpinned by his determination to hunt & secure LPG connections, sell Commercial &
Domestic LPG appliances and arrange installation of these products. Jamie was also involved in managing the
operations of the local branch.
Eventually it was time to take the plunge and develop a private business venture. So in July of 2001 Jamie joined
forces with his business partners and incorporated the GasCo Group of companies. The GasCo group rode a wave
of success on the back of the breakdown and restructure of the Gas fitting Business in the Southern area. Branches

were opened in Queenstown (www.gasco.net.nz), Invercargill and Dunedin. It was a natural progression for Jamie
to take the helm of the GasCo Group as the experience he brought to the table included Management in; Human
Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Project Management, and Sales & Marketing. Jamie’s role as Area
Manager was instrumental in progressing these businesses into significant companies employing 20+ staff and a
turnover well in excess of a Million dollars.
In 2003 Jamie was again head hunted, this time leading Gas appliance retail company Rinnai New Zealand
(www.rinnai.co.nz). They sought out his skills and experience and eventually secured him as the Southern Area
Manager. Jamie instantly became involved in company training. In the first weeks he was flown around the country
to up skill his collogues in Time management practices using the computer based outlook calendar. From this came
the offer to facilitate a full day sales training course offered to top performing customers throughout the country.
“Maximize your Sales” came on line in November 2003. Jamie was prominent in the revamp and delivery of this
highly desirable course. In addition Jamie was coached by Roger McGill of David Forman Limited
(www.davidforman.co.nz). This was to further enhance Jamie’s performance skills and therefore ensure a skilled
corporate presentation was delivered.
Much of the work Jamie did for Rinnai New Zealand centered on servicing the existing customer base in the
Southern region. This is an area Jamie excels due to strong interpersonal skills and the sincerity he demonstrates,
even when the going gets tough. Relationship building underpinned much of the growth in his area and as a result
customers showed loyalty by buying more Rinnai products. At a time where there was a great deal of aggressive
competition in the market place, Jamie was able to determine immediately how this could affect the business. He
was able to sound out his customers amongst his vast industry network, and because he had their support, many
were happy to share their valuable insights.
Restructures at Rinnai New Zealand were focused on the unprecedented increase in turnover and a need for a new
marketing direction to cope with that growth. A new team of highly focused and successful marketing professionals
was ushered in to analyse and examine companywide performance. With the rapid growth of the business creating
speed wobbles there was much to be done. Throughout this time Jamie was able to demonstrate his talent and
significant understanding of marketing initiatives. While Jamie had great experience in the New Zealand Gas
Industry it was his rational and commonsense take on the practical issues for the end users that won respect from
this highly regarded marketing team.
It is through this experience that Jamie has excelled in media and business sales through Mediaworks NZ. His
personable nature and ability to see business from a business owners perspective allowed him to become a top
sales contributor. Any company seeking professional sales penetration into the market can benefit from this
experience. Jamie now owns and operates his own Sales and Marketing consultancy business, 'More NZ Limited'
When you ask Jamie what has contributed most to his success, Jamie said “building and maintaining healthy
relationships”. Jamie went on to say; inevitably marketing is often about the people who make things happen on
every level of your business. While it is crucial to ensure the internal relationships support your team within your
business. It is also pragmatic to make certain you preserve healthy and productive relationships with your key
external stakeholders such as suppliers, specialist services and of course, your customers. In short, Jamie
understands the value of brokering beneficial outcomes with the people who provide forward momentum to your
business.
