1. James Soper : Curriculum Vitae
Personal Statement
As an experienced Learning Consultant, I have developed and lead numerous training interventions which resulted in
successful, results orientated business changes. I partner with the business to apply and adapt instructional design
techniques to deliver blended learning solutions that focus on changing learners’ behaviours to achieve measurable
return on investment.
I have a passion for helping people be the best they can be and make sure I’m up to date with current e-learning
techniques and learning theory and to help facilitate this. I have an adaptable and unflustered approach to work,
coming up with my own creative solutions and seeking out good ideas from others.
Having had seven successful years in my current role, I am now looking for new opportunities to stretch myself and
grow my potential.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
– Argued for, developed, organised and facilitated the first HR Community Event conference to have measureable
objectives. It received the most positive attendee feedback to date and the lessons learnt from this have
influenced E.ON’s head of HRs approach to future community event conferences.
– Worked with internal and external stakeholders to reduce the average length of a key customer service process
from 265 days to 12 by implementing environmental, knowledge and skill changes to one of E.ONs business areas.
This resulted in headline savings to the business of £1.8m
– Utilised business relationships, test and learn pilots and management information to influence previously hesitant
business partners to accept behavioural based e-learning.
– Worked collaboratively with senior business leaders to build internal relationships with diverse areas such as
Brand and Marketing and Regulations to develop methods of working together, business processes and new tools.
This has led to a greater understanding between our different departments, more trust and fewer control checks
meaning work gets done quicker.
– Developed ‘in the moment’ training solutions to support software changes that provided live help and was
supported by a 20 minute pre-course that required learners to complete real life scenarios
