Question 7oilik
1. Question 7
In our sixty second prelim task we had our first attempt at recording and
editing a film sequence. By doing this we acquired basic skills in using a camera
to create an effective piece of film by including a variation of camera angles to
emphasise different aspects of acting, and changes in the surroundings around
our character. To do so we included a wide range of challenging camera
techniques such as panning and the use of zoom shots to enhance in-film
concepts such as suspense and character emotion. During the process of
creating our sixty-second film we also had to adapt to the use of video editing
software and the one in which we were instructed to use was Final Cut.
Throughout our endeavour using this software we picked up on basic concepts
such as cutting clips, rendering shots and balancing the audio. In contrast to
our final media product, looking back we do not think it was a very good piece
of work and there are a lot of things that we think we could have improved;
however we feel that the basic skills that we now possess and have developed
over time due to the creation of our prelim task helped massively when
creating our final g321. It was important preparation for our project that
effectively made us familiar with film-making and the process of how this is
done.
