25. Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each
method
– Product Research
– A strength of product research is that you can get an idea of what your product should look like or
be similar to. Another strength is that you can find what is existing in the market so you don’t copy
the same product.
– A weakness of product research is that the products out their might not be similar to your own
product.
– Questionnaires
A strength of questionnaires is that they are easy to create. Another strength is that they can also
be distributed very easily via email.
A weakness of questionnaires is that the answers are limited to who you give the questionnaire
to. Another weakness is that some answers might not be legitimate as some people may rush
the questionnaire to get on with their day.
– Interviews
– A strength of an interview is that your more likely to get legitimate answers when interviewing
someone. Another strength is that it is easy and quick to produce the interview questions about
your product.
– A weakness of an interview is that you might struggle to find someone who has the free time or who
wants to be interviewed. Another weakness of an interview is that it can take a while to get multiple
responses as you are interviewing person by person
26. Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
– The responses I received were helpful because their feedback helped me plan
my final product. I got helpful feedback for example in the questionnaire 60%
said they wanted the video to be 2-3 minutes long so that viewers don’t lose
interest.
How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
– We distributed our survey using survey monkey and just mass emailed the link
to everyone in the class. Some advantages of doing this are that multiple
people can take the survey at the same time. Also you can send the survey out
to multiple people at the same time instead of sending them person by
person. Some disadvantages of survey monkey is that you don’t know if some
of the answers are legitimate because anyone can write anything to the
question. Also survey monkey is only limited to the people you send the
survey to.
