Working Title:
In the beginning
Audience:
Before endeavouring into details on how and what makes this audience appeal to my product, its
important to emphasise that I intend on producing my work to address all types of people, as you
cant designate a specific audience to whom watches music videos, after conducting some
research in this subject.
When considering gender, my audience will consist of predominantly males. Even Though there
are elements in consideration of female characteristics, as such with the inclusion of memories in
the form of flashbacks and a scrapbook style, which resembles their stereotypical values of being
creativity, passive and optimistic, it's much more profound that the threatening and dominant
undertones which will be emphasised, and that are stimulated much more frequently in the visual
styles, main character, and locations being set, are otherwise stereotypically referenced to the
aggressive and confident ideals that are created around males.
Now referencing the two age communities, with being either younger or older, it’s clear to mention
that my video will be more addressed towards the younger adults between the ages of 16 – 25.
With references to topics and situations which are often reoccurring with the younger group of
individuals, alongside with the general ideals congregating towards this age boundary, as such
with the character being portrayed and almost social characteristics that will be reflected, these will
be informed/exemplified to create more of an connection and understanding in the current
mainstream of people and most specifically the individuals in this age category; whereas, when
performing some in depth research upon my questionnaire and survey responses, there will also
be some aspects in consideration of the older community as well, for the longer view duration and
velocity of engagement within the narrative supports their requirements sufficiently, which is
incredibly beneficial when wanting to attract the wider audience as these consist of about 18% of
the UK’s population.
As recognised, my audience will consist of primarily the social grades ranging from E and to C2’s,
the main reasoning behind this audience is justified through them representing the poorer to
middle earning families which will stereotypically watch videos, such as with what I’m producing,
as a source of entertainment instead of using their more scarce money in comparison to A and B’s
in the social ranking, otherwise known as not having as much of an disposable income;
additionally, its honourable to mention that this covers 46.65% of the UK’s population, and with this
being a significant percentage, it only justifies my reasoning to reflect their necessary involvement
to the project.
With psychographics, it's clear to understand that based on having the younger adult male
audience, as referenced and justified above, alongside with my own knowledge on the stereotypes
in these subjects and audiences preferences/requirements, it's likely that they would idealise
towards: innovators, believers and survivors in the VALS groups of individuals.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Across the series of tasks acquired, I have developed a wide range of knowledge alongside skills
from which will most definitely support my future progress in assignments, production and work
related ethics, these consisting of management, organisation, software skills and flourishing a
greater interest/expertise upon the media industry. It is manageable to say that these will most
doubtlessly support my progress in not just only my college years, but also in future job related
causes and activities, all which will be reflected in the progress of my education when this begins
to thrive even more so than it already is. Using these skills gathered, I will manage deadlines more
efficiently and produce a sufficient amount of work, all of which will be in high detail from the
knowledge I have accumulated across my years in education.

Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
When referring to my FMP, I will be creating a music video across the primary genres being both
mystery and isolation, this will be reflected in an approximate 4 minute video which will represent
the different ideals, contextual meanings, and thoughts I would like to emphasise in my peers to
current issues in society. This will be evoked through a fluctuating narrative in the course of the
video, consisting of about 15 different sections which differ in time from reality to past experiences,
and these will reflect the struggles of my main character in a series of relatable topics that will
convey the downfall of this individuals life and how it has affected himself physically and mentally.
Following this, the process of making this engaging and understanding towards my audience will
be through the already mentioned relatable topics and situations that everybody can be influenced
upon, therefore creating a connection which emphasises an emotion between my audiences. My
main character will be used to follow a poor representation in the initial opening scenes of the
younger community, through predominantly his visuals, which will significantly alter as the story
progresses to evoke the statement of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ and conjure a sense of guilt
and sympathy.
Its important to acknowledge that in preparation of this, I have researched a range of different key
features, such as with colour schemes, existing products, and my audience with questionnaires
and surveys, to support my process in generating the ideas I have in mind, whilst also
demonstrating their use and exploring the possibilities in their inclusion to my work; this was
justified when establishing their implementation in some of the music videos I had analysed, such
as with the narratives across all, and etc more, which therefore has influenced my final product
accordingly and will help myself produce what I hope to be an amazing video with a lot of meaning
and emotion behind.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I will evaluate my work against existing sources and work I produced previously, to help establish
improvements and the progress I have made so far. Additionally, I will also sustain a weekly diary,
which becomes daily in the production phase, in acknowledgement of my work, organisation and
time management attributes to reflect my progress in the project, and my current thoughts/feelings
against my aims and intentions as the assignment advances. I also intend on frequently
addressing the different techniques, features, and decisions I had made, through emphasising
their inclusion and justifying their use in these steps of what, where, when and why.
