Brief details of Projects handled in MWH:
Bukit Barun Stage 8, Water Treatment Plant for Brunei Department of Water Services, Jan
2015 (Middle East, Brunei)
MWH Brunei has been awarded Consultancy Services for Design and Construction for Bukit Barun
Water Treatment Plant Stage 8. The Bukit Barun Stage 8 WTP project is a strategically significant
investment for the Government of Brunei Darussalam. To serve anticipated future demand,
Department of Water Services (DWS) intends to supplement the Bukit Barun Stage 4, 5, and 6
outputs with an independent 120MLD treatment plant (Bukit Barun Stage 8) with its own raw water
intake, raw water pumping main and treated water pump station. The key items include raw water
pumps rising mains, water treatment plant consisting of flocculation unit, rectangular clarifier, gravity
filter, chlorine contact tank, treated water tanks, treated water pump station, chlorination building,
chemical storage and dosing building, waste water tank and clarifier, power substation building,
sludge lagoons and treated water rising mains. As a Project Technical Lead, Jagannath is responsible
preparing the programme and schedule, progress monitoring and updating, project resource
management, maintaining the risk register and mitigation, multi-discipline design and delivery
management of preliminary design and detailed design including tender and construction support. In
addition to the role of Project Technical Lead, Jagannath is also responsible for reviewing the
mechanical design deliverables.
Rewa WTP feasibility, Fiji Water Authority, 2015
As a Mechanical Engineer, Jagannath was responsible for the preliminary design involving sizing of
mechanical equipment, preparing GA drawings and producing bill of quantities for the feasibility of
80MLD water treatment plant along with the multi-discipline teams.
Underground Sewage Scheme Phase-II (Kalwa), Thane Municipal Corporation, Thane, 2014
The scope of the project is to detailed design to construct 3 nos. Sewage Treatment Plant of average
capacities 8.45 MLD, 22.2 MLD and 23.06 MLD under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal
Mission (JNNRUM) for Thane Municipal Corporation (Mumbai). The key process units include
mechanical screens, grit-detritor, screenings handling, Moving Bed Bio Reactor (MBBR), Blowers,
Claritube-Settler, UV disinfection and outfall, Sludge collection and dewatering centrifuge units. As
a Mechanical discipline design reviewer, Jagannath was involved in reviewing the various
Mechanical design deliverables such as equipment sizing and selection, specifications, vendor
submittals, mechanical general arrangement drawings for construction.
Proposals for Middle East and Australia/NewZealand, 2015-2016
Jagannath has supported in preparing detailed Work breakdown structure and budget for the detailed
design proposal for Dukhan STP, Consultancy Design Services for Sheehaniya Strategic Sewer &
Forwarding Pumping Station, Emergency TFSs and Internal Piping Improvement, Bahrain Central
Pump Stations and various RFP’s for NewZealand and Fiji Water Authority involving multi-
disciplines.
Rugby Newbold Sludge Treatment Facility, Severn Trent Water, 2012 (UK)
This project is a part of the Amp5 programme for Severn Trent Water to upgrade the existing sludge
treatment facility in order to improve the consistency, performance and reliability of the sludge
treatment facility and to mitigate unacceptable operation expenditure and health and safety risks,

against increased flows and population growth. The key items include sludge pumping and handling
units such as primary sedimentation tank (PST) desludge pumping station, pre-digestion blending
tank feed pumping station, digester sludge feed pumping station, sludge import screen, PKT
supernatant pump station and sludge to land pumping system. As a Mechanical Engineer, Jagannath
was responsible for preliminary design such as sizing, preparing specifications, mechanical schedules
and supplier bid review required for outline stage.
Hockley Boreholes, Severn Trent Water, 2012 (UK)
This project is a part of the Amp5 programme for Severn Trent Water as part of the Birmingham city
water supply resilience strategy. Currently the Frankley WTW is supplying 325 ml/d with a base
demand of 195 ml/d. In the event of Frankley WTW being offline in an emergency makes it the most
significant risk on Severn Trent Water risk matrix. As a part of solution 3 groundwater schemes
under Hockley Boreholes at a project cost of £2,652k is proposed. The key items include replacement
of existing groundwater borehole pumps, addition of new borehole pumps and sodium hypochlorite
dosing system. As a Mechanical Engineer, Jagannath was responsible for the preliminary design such
as pump sizing, preparing specifications, mechanical schedules and supplier bid review required for
outline stage.
Rugby Newbold Sludge Treatment Facility, Severn Trent Water, 2012 (UK)

This project is a part of the 4Delivery Joint Venture programme for Southern Water during AMP5.
The 2.7m GBP scheme is to upgrade Horsham Wastewater Treatment Works to cater for tighter
discharge consent. The key items include carbonaceous plastic media filter, recirculation pumping
station and modifications to existing primary settling tank and collection chambers. As a Design
Team Lead, Jagannath was responsible for multi-discipline design deliverables right from the scoping
through detailed design and design support to construction.
4D-Amp5 Sandhurst WwTW, Southern Water, 2011 (UK)
This project is a part of the 4Delivery Joint Venture programme for Southern Water during AMP5.
The 0.962m GBP project is to upgrade Sandhurst Wastewater Treatment Works to cater for tighter
discharge consent. The key items include tertiary treatment filters, inlet balancing tank, works
return/recirculation pumping station and modifications in existing storm overflow system. As a
Design Team Lead, Jagannath was responsible for multi discipline design deliverables right from the
scoping through detailed design and design support to construction.

Kyogle water supply augmentation, Kyogle Council, 2013 (AP)
This project is to upgrade the Kyogle water treatment plant. The purpose of the upgrade is to allow
the WTP to be able to consistently and reliably provide potable water to Australian Drinking Water
guidelines into the Kyogle reticulation system. The scope currently proposed includes refurbishment
of key process areas within the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), the Raw Water Pump Station (RWPS),
and the WTP sludge route to the local Sewage Pumping station (SPS). MWH are providing Kyogle
Council with the necessary design services to ensure a safe, compliant and robust solution is
delivered. As a Pune Project Technical Lead (PTL), Jagannath was responsible for the 30%, 50%
and 100% design submission which include local co-ordination within the multi-discipline design
teams, monitor and track the discipline progress, report to the AP-PTL and Project Manager (PM) on
the budget & schedule. Jagannath was also responsible for the mechanical discipline checker for all
the design deliverables such as reviewing and enhancing the capacity of raw water pumps with
minimum modifications in the existing pumping system, replacing the existing clean water pumps
and modifications in the suction piping arrangement for O & M, blower selection for gravity sand
filters, specifications, P&ID’s, Data sheets, and review general arrangement drawings for raw water
pump station, clean water pump station and pressure sand filter in water treatment plant. Multi-
discipline review of GA Drawings in coordination with Civil, CAD, I&C & Electrical Team as part
of the project deliverables.
4D-Amp5 Lidsey WwTW, Southern Water, 2010 to 2011 (UK)
This project is a part of the 4Delivery Joint Venture programme for Southern Water during AMP5.
The 5m GBP project is to upgrade Lidsey Wastewater Treatment Works to cater for growth in
population equivalent and the tighter discharge consent. The key additions were tertiary treatment
filters and works return/recirculation pumping station. As a Design Team Lead, Jagannath was
responsible for multi discipline design deliverables right from the scoping through detailed design
and design support to construction.
4D-Amp5 Lydd WwTW, Southern Water, 2010 to 2011 (UK)
This project is a part of the 4Delivery Joint Venture programme for Southern Water during AMP5.
The 2.75m GBP scheme is to upgrade Lydd Wastewater Treatment Works to cater for growth in
population equivalent and tighter discharge consent. The key items were nitrifying sand filters, sand
filter feed pump station, compressor package, sand trap, and modifications in works return pump
station and replacing trickling filter distribution arms. As a Design Team Lead, Jagannath was
responsible for multi-discipline design deliverables right from the scoping through detailed design
and design support to construction.
East Baton Rouge Central Pump Station, MWH, Americas, 2010
This project was to provide preliminary design of a new sewage pumping station of capacity 58 mgd
(40278 gpm) and divert all the flows to another Wastewater Treatment Plant. As a Mechanical
designer, Jagannath provided preliminary design of pumping system, design calculations such as wet
well sizing, pumping system, pump selection, operational arrangement and pump station general
arrangement drawing.
Design Framework - Design standardization, MWH Americas, 2009
This project was to prepare signature designs for various units in water and wastewater treatment
plants for MWH Americas. Work involved producing standard designs for various pumping station
layouts, MWH Pumping Systems, Best Practice Design Guide and Pumping System Evaluation Tool.

As a Mechanical Designer involved in preparing the piping and equipment layouts, piping isometrics,
piping material take-off and valve schedule for a contaminated water treatment plant area.

(Inlet screens, Inlet Pumping station, PST’s, Biofilters, Humus Tanks, Intermediate pumping station,

HOSMANI Page 2 of 8 Brief details of Projects handled in MWH: Bukit Barun Stage 8, Water Treatment Plant for Brunei Department of Water Services, Jan 2015 (Middle East, Brunei) MWH Brunei has been awarded Consultancy Services for Design and Construction for Bukit Barun Water Treatment Plant Stage 8. The Bukit Barun Stage 8 WTP project is a strategically significant investment for the Government of Brunei Darussalam. To serve anticipated future demand, Department of Water Services (DWS) intends to supplement the Bukit Barun Stage 4, 5, and 6 outputs with an independent 120MLD treatment plant (Bukit Barun Stage 8) with its own raw water intake, raw water pumping main and treated water pump station. The key items include raw water pumps rising mains, water treatment plant consisting of flocculation unit, rectangular clarifier, gravity filter, chlorine contact tank, treated water tanks, treated water pump station, chlorination building, chemical storage and dosing building, waste water tank and clarifier, power substation building, sludge lagoons and treated water rising mains. As a Project Technical Lead, Jagannath is responsible preparing the programme and schedule, progress monitoring and updating, project resource management, maintaining the risk register and mitigation, multi-discipline design and delivery management of preliminary design and detailed design including tender and construction support. In addition to the role of Project Technical Lead, Jagannath is also responsible for reviewing the mechanical design deliverables. Rewa WTP feasibility, Fiji Water Authority, 2015 As a Mechanical Engineer, Jagannath was responsible for the preliminary design involving sizing of mechanical equipment, preparing GA drawings and producing bill of quantities for the feasibility of 80MLD water treatment plant along with the multi-discipline teams. Underground Sewage Scheme Phase-II (Kalwa), Thane Municipal Corporation, Thane, 2014 The scope of the project is to detailed design to construct 3 nos. Sewage Treatment Plant of average capacities 8.45 MLD, 22.2 MLD and 23.06 MLD under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNRUM) for Thane Municipal Corporation (Mumbai). The key process units include mechanical screens, grit-detritor, screenings handling, Moving Bed Bio Reactor (MBBR), Blowers, Claritube-Settler, UV disinfection and outfall, Sludge collection and dewatering centrifuge units. As a Mechanical discipline design reviewer, Jagannath was involved in reviewing the various Mechanical design deliverables such as equipment sizing and selection, specifications, vendor submittals, mechanical general arrangement drawings for construction. Proposals for Middle East and Australia/NewZealand, 2015-2016 Jagannath has supported in preparing detailed Work breakdown structure and budget for the detailed design proposal for Dukhan STP, Consultancy Design Services for Sheehaniya Strategic Sewer & Forwarding Pumping Station, Emergency TFSs and Internal Piping Improvement, Bahrain Central Pump Stations and various RFP’s for NewZealand and Fiji Water Authority involving multi- disciplines. Rugby Newbold Sludge Treatment Facility, Severn Trent Water, 2012 (UK) This project is a part of the Amp5 programme for Severn Trent Water to upgrade the existing sludge treatment facility in order to improve the consistency, performance and reliability of the sludge treatment facility and to mitigate unacceptable operation expenditure and health and safety risks,

As a Mechanical Engineer, Jagannath was responsible for preliminary design such as sizing, preparing specifications, mechanical schedules and supplier bid review required for outline stage. Hockley Boreholes, Severn Trent Water, 2012 (UK) This project is a part of the Amp5 programme for Severn Trent Water as part of the Birmingham city water supply resilience strategy. Currently the Frankley WTW is supplying 325 ml/d with a base demand of 195 ml/d. In the event of Frankley WTW being offline in an emergency makes it the most significant risk on Severn Trent Water risk matrix. As a part of solution 3 groundwater schemes under Hockley Boreholes at a project cost of £2,652k is proposed. The key items include replacement of existing groundwater borehole pumps, addition of new borehole pumps and sodium hypochlorite dosing system. As a Mechanical Engineer, Jagannath was responsible for the preliminary design such as pump sizing, preparing specifications, mechanical schedules and supplier bid review required for outline stage. Rugby Newbold Sludge Treatment Facility, Severn Trent Water, 2012 (UK) This project is a part of the Amp5 programme for Severn Trent Water to upgrade the existing sludge treatment facility in order to improve the consistency, performance and reliability of the sludge treatment facility and to mitigate unacceptable operation expenditure and health and safety risks, against increased flows and population growth. The key items include sludge pumping and handling units such as primary sedimentation tank (PST) desludge pumping station, pre-digestion blending tank feed pumping station, digester sludge feed pumping station, sludge import screen, PKT supernatant pump station and sludge to land pumping system. The 2.7m GBP scheme is to upgrade Horsham Wastewater Treatment Works to cater for tighter discharge consent. The key items include carbonaceous plastic media filter, recirculation pumping station and modifications to existing primary settling tank and collection chambers. As a Design Team Lead, Jagannath was responsible for multi-discipline design deliverables right from the scoping through detailed design and design support to construction. 4D-Amp5 Sandhurst WwTW, Southern Water, 2011 (UK) This project is a part of the 4Delivery Joint Venture programme for Southern Water during AMP5. The 0.962m GBP project is to upgrade Sandhurst Wastewater Treatment Works to cater for tighter discharge consent. The key items include tertiary treatment filters, inlet balancing tank, works return/recirculation pumping station and modifications in existing storm overflow system. As a Design Team Lead, Jagannath was responsible for multi discipline design deliverables right from the scoping through detailed design and design support to construction.

The purpose of the upgrade is to allow the WTP to be able to consistently and reliably provide potable water to Australian Drinking Water guidelines into the Kyogle reticulation system. The scope currently proposed includes refurbishment of key process areas within the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), the Raw Water Pump Station (RWPS), and the WTP sludge route to the local Sewage Pumping station (SPS). MWH are providing Kyogle Council with the necessary design services to ensure a safe, compliant and robust solution is delivered. As a Pune Project Technical Lead (PTL), Jagannath was responsible for the 30%, 50% and 100% design submission which include local co-ordination within the multi-discipline design teams, monitor and track the discipline progress, report to the AP-PTL and Project Manager (PM) on the budget & schedule. Jagannath was also responsible for the mechanical discipline checker for all the design deliverables such as reviewing and enhancing the capacity of raw water pumps with minimum modifications in the existing pumping system, replacing the existing clean water pumps and modifications in the suction piping arrangement for O & M, blower selection for gravity sand filters, specifications, P&ID’s, Data sheets, and review general arrangement drawings for raw water pump station, clean water pump station and pressure sand filter in water treatment plant. Multi- discipline review of GA Drawings in coordination with Civil, CAD, I&C & Electrical Team as part of the project deliverables. 4D-Amp5 Lidsey WwTW, Southern Water, 2010 to 2011 (UK) This project is a part of the 4Delivery Joint Venture programme for Southern Water during AMP5. The 5m GBP project is to upgrade Lidsey Wastewater Treatment Works to cater for growth in population equivalent and the tighter discharge consent. The key additions were tertiary treatment filters and works return/recirculation pumping station. As a Design Team Lead, Jagannath was responsible for multi discipline design deliverables right from the scoping through detailed design and design support to construction. 4D-Amp5 Lydd WwTW, Southern Water, 2010 to 2011 (UK) This project is a part of the 4Delivery Joint Venture programme for Southern Water during AMP5. The 2.75m GBP scheme is to upgrade Lydd Wastewater Treatment Works to cater for growth in population equivalent and tighter discharge consent. The key items were nitrifying sand filters, sand filter feed pump station, compressor package, sand trap, and modifications in works return pump station and replacing trickling filter distribution arms. As a Design Team Lead, Jagannath was responsible for multi-discipline design deliverables right from the scoping through detailed design and design support to construction. East Baton Rouge Central Pump Station, MWH, Americas, 2010 This project was to provide preliminary design of a new sewage pumping station of capacity 58 mgd (40278 gpm) and divert all the flows to another Wastewater Treatment Plant. As a Mechanical designer, Jagannath provided preliminary design of pumping system, design calculations such as wet well sizing, pumping system, pump selection, operational arrangement and pump station general arrangement drawing. Design Framework - Design standardization, MWH Americas, 2009 This project was to prepare signature designs for various units in water and wastewater treatment plants for MWH Americas. Work involved producing standard designs for various pumping station layouts, MWH Pumping Systems, Best Practice Design Guide and Pumping System Evaluation Tool.
