This document discusses the casting choices for roles in an upcoming film trailer. Several actors were chosen based on their appearance fitting the age and description of the characters. Locations like the front of a school and a house were selected because they suited the storyline and were conveniently accessible for filming. The director's parents were cast as the mother and father roles since it was easier than finding other actors and their home was the primary filming location.
2. Lucy
This person was chosen for this role because as Lucy
is the protagonist we needed someone who could
actually act and take it seriously. This person also
suits the required criteria of being the correct age (not
too old and not too young). This person can also do the
time frame we plan on filming and is unlikely to
cancel.
3. Damien Ridgeway
Jacob was chosen to play the main protagonist Damien
Ridgeway. This is because the character is an older male and
Jacob looks a lot older mainly due to his beard. The beard is
a massive factor into Jacobs role as it looks menacing and as
in the trailer the character ages we can create this illusion
by shaving the beard.
4. Sergeant Green
I was chosen for this role as the role required someone who can
play an authority figure. I was also chosen for this role as we a
short staffed and everyone needed a role.
5. Sergeant Miller
Ben was chosen for this role as the character has minimal
screen time, and ben prefers to edit. Ben was also chosen for
this role as Sergeant Miller is an older man and we needed
someone who looks older and looks like an authority figure.
6. Detective Inspector Connor
Ben was chosen for this role as the character has minimal
screen time, and ben prefers to edit. Ben was also chosen for
this role as Detective Inspector Conner is an older man and
we needed someone who looks older and looks like an
authority figure.
8. • The front of the school was chosen as we needed to identify the protagonist
as someone still in school, so we have the protagonist walking home. It was
also chosen as we needed the antagonist to choose the protagonist and as we
are in school it was an obvious setting due to availability and the fact that
we’re already here to do the filming.
10. • The police station was chosen as for one of the scenes we needed the
antagonist to be going to jail, therefore the police station was a obvious
choice for the location. There is also only one police station in town so this
location was the only place we could do it. The courthouse was also another
option however was not chosen due to the legal reasons.
13. • Most of the trailer will be shot in this location, and as my house is in a
village and suits the secluded criteria we went for this. We also chose my
house as it allows us to film inside and uses ever available space where as
with other locations we could not be able to utilise all of the location. Also as
it is my house we can use it pretty much when ever we want with no select
time meaning if needed we can go back and do more filming if something is
wrong. My house also a suitable location for the scenes meaning we can
actually do what we wanted without many changes.
14. Mother
My mother was chosen to play the role of the mother in the trailer
as we needed someone who was older and actually looked like they
were a mother. It was easier just to have my mother play the part
due to convenience of her actually being my mother. This way it
saves us time and effort having to find someone else to play the
role. As the scenes are set at my house it also means that she will
not need to travel.
15. Father
My Father was chosen to play the role of the Father in the trailer
as we needed someone who was older and actually looked like they
were a father. It was easier just to have my father play the part
due to convenience of him actually being my father. This way it
saves us time and effort having to find someone else to play the
role. As the scenes are set at my house it also means that he will
not need to travel.
