Chilapi took on multiple roles in the short film's production due to lack of available actors. As producer, she was in charge of props, costumes, locations, and catering. She also played the main protagonist role. As director, the document's author had to instruct both actors and ensure the right shots were captured. One challenging scene involved Chilapi's character attacking her partner's character, requiring different camera angles to make it look realistic. After filming, the author and Chilapi will each edit their own versions of the film separately.

Roles in a student short film production
1. Production roles
In our shortfilm, the producer, Chilapi ended up being one of the actors. She
actually played the role of the protagonistin our film, as unfortunately our
original Actor and back up actor for the role were not available. This left us
with no choice but to use her as we were not able to find someone who would
be able to take on the role last minute. Chilapi has to interact with me, as was
the director, to understand whereshe was meant to be and whatshe was
meant to be doing or how to do an action properly. Chilapi who is also the
producer, is in chargeof the props, costumeand location. She is also in charge
of providing food and drinks for everyonetaking part in the production.
As I am also the Camera man for the production, I will have to tell both of our
actors what to do and whereto stand. This is because, I would have to make
surethat they fit into every shotthat I take whilsttrying to get the angles and
lighting right. Also as the director, I would have to tell each actor what to do to
make surethat they are doing their jobs right.
In the production, there is a part near the end whereChilapi and Laolu, who is
acting as our anonymous character, would haveto interact in a way. As Alex,
our main character, assumes thatshe is being followed and doesnβtrealise that
it is actually her partner, paranoia gets to her and when she sees him through
the peephole of her door, shegets a weapon and justwhacks himover the
head. This partis going to be a bit tricky as I will have to make surethat I get all
the rightshots fromdifferent angles to ensure that the scenelooks realistic. To
add to this, it may be a bit funny for Chilapi acting like sheis hitting Laolu or
even for both of them becausethey are fun, bubbly people and acting as if
youβrein such situation may be hard sometimes and their fun personalities
may shinethrough. I would have that role to try and allow some fun times but
make surethey, as well as myself are focused and serious when it comes to
filming the production.
I was the one who produced the shooting scriptand being the cameraman and
director means that I will easily be able to understand and follow whatI have
done throughoutthe script, ensuring that each scene consists of the correct
shots that they are meant to have in them.
My last role for this production is to edit the film when the whole producing
section has been completed. This will conclude of me putting the footage in
the correctorder that I wantmy film to be in. I and Chilapi, who are the only
2. people in our group, will have the roles as editors but, we will be editing our
films separately. This means that we will be able to be flexible with our
individual films and makethem look however wewant them to look. We will
both eventually have two films that havesimilarities but look very different.
For my own film, I will make surethat I keep it simple but have effective sound
and transitions wherethey are needed.
When it comes to the production runner, we areall going to pitch in. I believe
that all of us could sharethis role equally and help out here and there where
need be. For example, when Chilapi is acting and Laolu isnβt, he could be the
runner and help when he is needed, vice versa.
