4. Effective Communication Have you ever experienced a communication problem or failure to communicate with someone? In order to effectively communicate, we must understand the parts of the communication process.

5. Elements of the Communication Process A. Sender – the person who is sending the message. Two factors determine how effective the communicator will be: Attitude- It must be positive. Selection of meaningful symbols- know your audience *Name some of the ways we communicate. Are some more effective than others? Why?

6. B. Message- communication in writing, by speech, or in symbols. C. Receiver- the person receiving the message (your audience) D. Feedback- the reaction of the receiver to the message Lets the sender know how effectively the message was delivered
