Learner’s discovering tools that will benefit them in their job roles such as Kahoot, Mentimeter,
Socrative and Polleverywhere. These tools allow assessment of learner knowledge in a fun way
and allow you to record results.
Encouraging Managers to use new tools during sessions!
Digital Responsibility – often becomes a discussion point in many sessions where learners share
their views on technology and today. Good way to get the class talking if they are an unfamiliar
with each other and will be working together for the Control Task. This is often the first session I
complete with learners.
An example of this is a group of Youth Workers working with my colleague had to stop the session
and change their privacy settings on their social media accounts after completing Takethislollip.

8. GOOD NEWS STORIES
Tools can be embedded into the other Essential Skills easily such as using linoit for learners to share
ideas, or a Kahoot quiz to challenge them.
Learners trying new tools and being able to get past the ‘I can do this in work because of …’ or ‘we
have a department that does that …’ and producing a multimedia resource at the end which is really
impressive showing how they have developed skills along the way.
