supporting authors with
UKRI long-form open
access requirements
3. UKRI: HOW ARE WE SUPPORTING
COMPLIANCE? BOOKS
For whole books, we are
supporting UKRI compliance via OA
publication (gold OA)
• Our standard OA fee for
monographs is £8,000.
• CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 as
standard. Other licences
available if author prefers an
alternative.
• Titles subject to funder
mandates are currently
excluded from Bloomsbury
Open Collections (our S2O OA
books model).

4. UKRI: HOW ARE WE SUPPORTING
COMPLIANCE? CHAPTERS
For chapters in edited works, we will
support UKRI compliance through self-
archiving (green OA)
• Authors may place a copy of their
accepted chapter manuscript in a
compliant repository and make it
publicly available after 12 months
under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence.
• Authors should complete a digital rights
form to secure a formal permission –
contact Bloomsbury editor or
openaccess@bloomsbury.com.
• We don’t offer a (gold) OA publication
for chapters.
