Instabill representatives attended Transact 15 Conference and Trade Show Mar. 31-Apr. 2 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Instabill was represented by CEO Jason Field, Administrative Assistant Sally Punch and Senior Copywriter Chris O'Donnell.
2. Hangin’ in
Haight-
Ashbury
Instead of going the
traditional hotel
route, Instabill CEO
Jason Field, Senior
Copywriter Chris
O’Donnell and
Administrative
Assistant Sally Punch
opted to purchase
an Airbnb
residence…and they
could not have
chosen a better
district in the City By
the Bay.
3. Hangin’ in
Haight-
Ashbury
The view outside our
Airbnb condo on the
corner of Waller and
Masonic streets, just a
block away from Haight-
Ashbury, four blocks from
Golden Gate Park and a
15-minute cab ride to the
Moscone Center, site of
Transact 15. For those
who have never gone the
Airbnb route, we highly
recommend it, especially
in a “walking” city like San
Francisco.
4. Before…
The first order of business
upon arriving to the
Moscone Center was to
dress up Stand No. 700.
Furniture was bought at a
nearby Target, carpet was
quickly installed and
banners were displayed
while business cards and
chachkis – mobile phone
pockets, which proved
very popular – were laid
out.
5. …and After
We clean up nice if we
don’t mind saying.
The Instabill stand
attracted more than
60 visitors during the
2.5 days of open
hours.
6. Outside the
Moscone
Center…

rain forests in Yerba
Buena Gardens,
across the street from
the Moscone Center.
7. Calm Before
the Storm
Instabill CEO Jason
Field and
Administrative
Assistant Sally Punch
rarely had any
downtime – a good
thing when exhibiting
at a trade show.
8. High Risk:
What it is and
How to handle
it:
Among the first
seminars on Tuesday
was High Risk: What it
is, How to Handle it
and What it Really
Means. From left is
Jacob Bennett of the
National Merchants
Association (NMA),
Roman Cataldo of
Point Break Payments,
Bill Sutton of First
Card Merchant
Services and Heather
Peterson (moderator)
of the NMA.
10. U.S. Treasury
Leadership
and the
Payments
Industry
Melissa Koide (far
right), Deputy
Assistant Secretary of
Consumer Policy for
the U.S. Treasury
Department, discusses
prepaid, mobile and
crypto transactions in
one of the final
sessions on Tuesday.
11. Meet one of
our
Neighbors
All of the exhibitors at
Transact 15 had ways
of drawing traffic to
their stands. Here,
one of our neighbors
was one of the more
original – showing off
the DeLorean from
Back to the Future,
still popular 30 years
later…the film, that is.
12. International
Underwriting
How much is Enough:
The Ever-changing
needs in
International
Underwriting: We
found this seminar
among the better
ones at Transact 15.
Allison Guidette
(standing) and Matt
Ward-Steinman of
G2 Web Services
were outstanding
speakers who
expertly engaged
those in attendance.
13. A Maze of
PSPs, ISOs
and Agents
A view of the many
PSPs, agents and
ISOs on display at
Transact 15, the
largest annual
payments trade
show in the world.
14. A Busy
Stand is a
Happy Stand
Instabill CEO Jason
Field discusses
possibilities with a
prospective partner.
The Instabill Partner
Program, which
specializes in finding
payment options for
high risk, hard-to-
place merchants,
has grown
exponentially over
the last two years.
15. U.S. Chip
Migration
Update
A hot button topic
over the last two
years, Stephanie
Ericksen of Visa
lectures on U.S. Chip
Migration Update
and Best Practices
Wednesday at
Transact 15. A
recent survey
reported only 40
percent of U.S.
merchants are ready
to accommodate
EMV chip credit
cards.
16. The CFPB:
An Insider’s
Point of View
The panel of the
seminar, The
Consumer Finance
Protection Bureau
(CFPB): An Insider’s
Point of View. From
left, Ted Katata of
Wells Fargo, Lisa
Henken of Netspend
and Allyson Baker of
Venable.
17. This One
Needed More
Time
The panel of the
seminar, Anti-
Money Laundering:
Compliance and
Government in the
Digital Payments
Age. It was shame
this session was only
limited to an hour.
From left, Carol Van
Cleef of Global
Payments, Kathryn
Haun of the U.S.
Department of
Justice, and a
prosecutor on the
Silk Road case;
Kashmir Hill, FBI;
and Stephanie
Broker of FinCEN.
19. Outside
Transact
15…
We didn’t get
outside much during
the day, but the
weather in San
Francisco during the
Conference was its
usual pristine.
Sunny and 65-70
each day. Pictured is
nearby Yerba Buena
Gardens.
21. On the Other
Side of the
Bay…
The photo doesn’t do it
justice, but off in the
distance is the
spectacular Golden
Gate Bridge, seen from
Pier 39 on Fisherman’s
Wharf, taken over
echoes of about 100
seals parked on the
docks for a night’s rest.
