INSTABILL IS SECURE
As an international credit card processor, security is
one of the top priorities at Instabill. Not only do we
want to keep our network safe, but we also want to
protect our merchants and their customers. We store
all of our passwords using a 256-bit AES bank-level
encryption. This slideshow will explain how to use
the password cryptography tool KeePassX.

3. WHY ENCRYPT?
Encrypted passwords prevent hackers from accessing
your accounts as well as allow you to remember more
secure, longer passwords. Nothing is worse than an ex-
girlfriend, husband, or former disgruntled employee
breaching personal or business accounts and stealing
your private data. We use KeePassX whenever possible
to protect our accounts at work and home.

4. KEEPASSX.ORG
First, open a Web browser and go to
www.keepassx.org/downloads. Select the version that
works best for your operating system and download it.
Once you save the file, move it to a secure location and
extract it. Open the folder, drag the KeePassX icon to
your taskbar, and close the folder.

5. SETUP KEEPASSX
Click on the icon and select File and New Database or
press Control N on your keyboard. Create a
strong, memorable password. This password should be at
least 16 characters with at least one space, one special
character—like the pound sign or the ampersand—one
number, and one capital letter.

6. MAKE AN ENTRY
Now, make an entry. When you enter all of your details,
KeePassX will create a password for you. You can set
parameters for your passwords, such as length, numbers
and letters only, and no spaces. You can create groups to
organize your user names and passwords, such as
finances and emails.

7. USING KEEPASSX
To use KeePassX, go to the website for the account you
just created. By typing Control B, you will copy your user
name. Paste your copied user name into the correct login
box by typing Control V. Next, copy your password by
typing Control C and paste it into the correct login box.

8. BENEFITS?
One of the major benefits of using KeePassX is that you
will only need to remember one password to log into your
KeePassX account. You will also prevent malware and
viruses from tracking your key strokes when logging into
accounts by copying and pasting user names and
passwords right from KeePassX into the login fields
