2. Future Cities….
o A city of the future would have Municipal governments that do what is best for the entire
population and adopt sustainable practices to ensure growth and viability. The leaders will
realize that investment in infrastructure for the long-term will be more cost effective as it
will result in increased efficiencies and improvements to the environment. As citizens ,
people will be involved in their communities and exercise their right to vote to elect
leaders who make decisions in the best interests of the city not because they are controlled
by lobby and special interest groups.
o A city lead by a mandate to end corruption with a vision to manage financial resources
and build a better place for current and future generations.
o A goal of zero carbon footprint. A person can dream….
o Today, over half of the world population lives in cities. And if the forecasts of the UN
researchers turn out to be true, that figure could rise to two thirds in 25 years. Some cities
are even taking on such gargantuan proportions that, for want of a better word, they’re
now being referred to as “mega cities” . So for this increasing population , there must be
some proper planning for this new developed megacities.
3. o Conduct unmanned farm work and targeted pesticide spray using GPS technology, and
low environmental impact agricultural production
o Innovate the distribution of agricultural products by using ICT for enhancing
traceability and introducing an automated process management system
o Extensively use ICT at school for increasing energy-efficiency of school facilities,
improving educational materials, and enhancing student security on the way to and
from school
4. o Introduce next-generation transportation systems such as ITS and next
generation vehicles
o Demonstrate health monitoring system which acquires, saves and utilizes
human health information by using on-board equipment
5. o Use woody biomass derived from recycled materials such as forest thinning for
power and gas production.
o Produce nano carbon by using gas extracted from wooden chips.
o Construct an application mechanism for waste edible oil, night soil and fishery
waste
6. o Achieve energy savings through energy optimization in factories
o Provide skill education for non-Indian workers as well as of local SMEs
