Here is an enjoyable activity to help students practice language structures for giving opinions. Each pair
of students is given a set of cards. On each card is a topic with three possible opinions. Students split the
cards in half and create a fourth opinion for each topic. When the students have finished, they combine
their cards together, shuffle them and place them face down in a pile on the table. One student begins by
taking the top card and laying it on the table for both students to see. The student then gives their
opinion about the topic on the card by making a complete sentence from the prompt, e.g.
It’s all about our opinion, explain according our self.
How to ask someone about anything, and giving the opinion.
We need some dialogue to practice asking and giving opinion.
ASKING OPINION :
How is your opinion? (bagaimana pendapatmu?)
What do you think about…? (bagaimana pendapatmu?)
what do you think of…? (apa yang kau pikirkan tentang…?)
what is your opinion? (apa pendapat mu?)
How do you think of my idea? (bagaimana menurutmu dengan ideku?)
Please give me your opinion? (tolong berikan aku pendapatmu?)
What is your comment? (apa komentar mu?)
GIVING OPINION :
In my opinion (menurut pendapatku)
I personally believe (saya sendiri yakin)
I think that (aku berfikir bahwa)
As far I know (Sejauh yang aku tau)
I tend to think that (Aku cenderung berfikir bahwa)

student is given a copy of the worksheet. The students begin by completing each question on the
worksheet with a different school subject. Students can use the school subjects from the box on the
worksheet or their own ideas. When the students have finished, they are divided into pairs.
Students then ask their partner the questions on the worksheet and write sentences about their
partner's opinions, e.g.
