Labor Relations Manager in charge of all labor relations for a 1,000 person unionized mining facility. Have 3 salaried
direct reports.
• Point of contact for all things related to negotiations including creating MOU’s that benefited the efficiency of the
business.
• Handled all prep for a lengthy negotiation including writing all proposals, costing the options out, and getting
business feedback on the desired outcomes.
• Reevaluating the contract language and sought out opportunities to take managements rights back. This included
holding people accountable for attendance, increased ability to subcontract out, and putting a much tighter rein on
how many people can be off per area.
• Spent many months creating a contingency plan for a strike with multimillion dollar budget.
• Responsible for resolving a wildcat strike, sympathy strike, and two work slowdowns.
