Peer Learning & ICT Integration for Distance Education

  • 3. INTRODUCTION  University of Mumbai- 150 year old institution  IDOL 44 Years Approx. 80,000 students  Offer various programs  M. A Education  Mode – Distance through study centres & Contact sessions.
  • 4. PILOT STUDY 2011-2012  ICT an optional paper  Total no of students registered for M.A Edu- 500  Total opted for ICT 210  Final Registration 198
  • 5. 2012-2013  No of students 250  Case study with peer teaching.
  • 6.  National Programme on Technology Enhanced Leaning (NPTEL) a project funded by  Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) paved way to introduce multi-media & web technology in Science & Engineering field.  IIT’s &------
  • 7. ICT @ IDOL-UNIV OF MUMBAI-INDIA  Initially the programs were through distance mode for all courses-  M.A Education ICT course was only through study material  Government made ICT compulsory for Grade 9 students at schools  Teachers had only theoretical knowledge of ICT.
  • 8. 2011-2012-PILOT STUDY CONDUCTED  eclipse@mu.ac.in  Students were registered  YOU TUBE  Idol mumbaiuniversity ICT (English/Marathi)
