What is Aerobic
Dance?
 Aerobic Dance is an exercise that
combines the rhythmic steps of aerobics
with graceful dance movements.
 Aerobic dance exercise is any physical
activity that makes you sweat causes
you to breathe harder and gets your
heart beating faster than at rest. It
strengthens your heart and lungs, and
trains your cardiovascular system to
manage and deliver oxygen more
quickly and efficiently throughout your
body.
Aerobic dancing was invented by
Jacki Sorensen in 1969, inspired by Cooper's
book. Sorensen began teaching her method
and spreading it throughout the U.S. in the
hands of hundreds of instructors in the
1970s.
 This aerobic dance is a blend of cardio and
resistance training so it helps you tone your body
as you perform yoga poses, resistance training,
kickboxing, and pilates while doing Jazzercise.
