- Thanks Sue and Jo who have organized the day Congratulations Sue on the premium status the effort required is not to be underestimated Thanks IBM for the lunch and thanks everyone for your time There is no doubt that Mobility is a hot topic – can I ask Who is currently using Mobility for work management? Who plans to do something over the next 12 months? The business case to support mobility is often through Data improvements and Better work management by putting information in the hands of the users. I have even heard it supported by suggesting a tradesperson will spend less time at a computer terminal.
- We have all heard of mobile solutions/apps that simply have not delivered. 1. For those that have mobility in place how many have a strategy? Here are a few things to consider What device will you use? ioS, Android or Windows. Are you requiring users to Bring there own device or will your organisation supply them? What size device do you intend using? at a minimum I would suggest at a minimum small tablet for WO management 2. If you ask enough users you will have a complex solution and risk not be able to satsfy anyone. 3. Instead look at a continuing release philosophy that will have new functionality or rollout to different groups every 6 months or so. 4. Understand useability and practicability when holding mobile security by forcing to go therough vpn connections 5. Test your device and solution with users regularly – try a couple of doifferent devices, get various users with different degrees of tech ability
