Creating a Soap Opera Trailer
1.
2. For my preliminary task, I used a hand puppet
and took pictures of it and moved it slightly
after time I took one. This made it look like it
was moving across the table. I then made it
look like it ate a piece of bread.
3. 4.
We filmed our soap with a video camera
borrowed from college, and one DSLR that
belonged so someone in our group.
4. 4.
We watched soap
trailers from
similar soaps to
ours on
youtube, we
researched the
conventions by
doing this and
made our soap
accordingly.
5. I used BBC iPlayer to watch episodes of
Eastenders, to find out the conventions of
certain soaps. I also used the search engine
Google to find images and posters from
similar soaps, and had a look through tv
magazines.
6. After we had got our footage, we gave the
Camera to our media teacher who was going
to export the videos onto one of the
computers, but due to a mix up with the
cameras our footage got deleted and we had
to film it again. It was a minor slip up but we
managed to get the footage done again with
little inconvenience to ourselves.
7. Once I had chosen the song I wanted to use, I found it on youtube. I
then used the site ‘www.video2mp3.net’ to convert the song into mp3
format. I then used iTunes to save the song, and imported it into my
trailer.
8. I used photoshop to take the tape and logo from the E4 style guide. I used the magic wand tool
to get rid of the surrounding area around the tape and then saved it as a JPEG file to import
onto my poster.
I then dragged the tape into my poster and placed it
where I wanted it. I did the same for the E4 logo.
9. After signing in to
youtube, I clicked the
upload button on the
left of my username.
I was then taken to this
screen, and I clicked on
‘select files from your
computer’. I found the
file and proceeded to
upload it.
The video was then
saved on my profile.
10. To embed the
video, I copy
and pasted the
HTML code
into a new
post on
blogger under
the ‘edit
HTML’ tab.
11. I decided to use Microsoft Powerpoint to evaluate my work. I
chose to use this because I am familiar with it and have used
it to evaluate my work in the past.
I used the function to insert text boxes and copied and
pasted screenshots and images to accompany the text I
wrote.
