Font Websites (Dafont.com)- To download fonts to allow my magazine
stand out from the crowd.
Camera- Taking the pictures I put in my music magazine.
Photo Editing Apps (Fotor and iPhoto) – allowed me to use a range of
different effects, filters and tools to enhance my photographs.
Flickr – I put all of my photographs on flickr and I could flick through
them rotate them and download them.
Prezi - A way to present a slideshow presentation in an interactive
way
Padlet – Allows people or myself to post comments on a wall.
ThingLink – Allowed my to make my photos interactive by using
hotspots
Soundcloud – I recorded voice clips onto here and used them as
proof
4. BLOGGER
To upload all of my coursework I used blogger.com, which is a Google tool that allows
amateurs (like myself) to easily create and update a professional looking blog. I
used Blogger.com like my media diary. It’s a great tool because it allows me to
upload pictures of work, embed other bits of software such as prezi.com and
receive comments on my work. I had never used blogger before but I would
certainly use it again.
5. ADOBE FIREWORKS
I used fireworks to produce my DPS, Front cover and contents page. Before doing AS
Media studies I hadn’t really used fireworks much and I thought it would be much
harder. Using fireworks enabled me to produce a high standard consistent
products. I used many different tools which enabled me to produce my products
such as the tools enabling me to select a background and push images forwards
and backwards . Throughout the process I learnt a lot but one thing I learnt was
how to remove the background of a image using the magic wand tool and the
rubber. Other things I learnt to do was adjusting my text to make it fit in a certain
area, the properties box allowed me to do this. I could select the alignment of my
text and also how kerned the text was. I also learn how to adjust the transparency
of images and shapes again by using the properties box I used this feature in my
contents page to allow the text to be read easily. I also learnt about how to create
a structured magazine through the use of grids and guides
6. IPHOTO
This was a piece of software I used on my mac to edit my photos. It
allowed me to edit and store the photo easily. For example I could
lighten the photo or darken it. One thing I learnt by using iPhoto is
how different filters can really adjust the tone and mood of my
photo.
This is on of
the preset
filters. I
changes
the photo to
give a
vintage feel
7. PREZI
This is an online presentation tool that enabled me to present my information in a
cool unique way. It’s an online program that I could easily embed onto my blog.
One thing I leant whilst using prezi was how to make a path so the transitions
between my slides looks more animated and not simplistic.
8. YOUTUBE
This is a video sharing website which I can upload a video and embed the video onto
my blog. People can then comment and share the videos. I have leant that
YouTube is a very quick way to upload my video. I've always known how to search
for YouTube videos but I’ve never known how to upload a video and tag it for
users to find. After using this I now know how do that.
9. THINGLINK
Using thinklink has given me greater understanding of hot spotting images and how
to do. Using thinklink allowed me to put a link, sound, image or text to a certain
part of my image. Before I didn’t understand what a hotspot was. A Hotspot is the
area on an image that is hyperlinked to another action or location.
