3. What? Problem Solution How could it have an impact on my project?
Camera The camera might not work (e.g. the battery could
be flat)
When booking kit, book a battery charger so I can
charge the battery at home. Also, book a spare
battery in case the original battery has completely
failed.
This could impact my project because the battery
could take a long time to charge meaning filming
could be delayed by a day depending on the time
if day it runs out and is fully charged by.
The camera could be damaged, causing the
camera to not work
When I collect the kit, test/check the camera over
to see if there’s any damage. Also, ask a tutor to
check it over with me. If the camera is damaged
and it doesn’t work, ask a tutor for anther one,
and check the new one over.
If I notice the damage at a later stage, come into
college on a study day to get a replacement
camera.
Or use a backup camera that I would take with me
as a spare. Or use my phone camera to record the
footage.
This could impact my project because I might not
notice the damage the first time I check it. I could
notice it when I’m at home, meaning I might have
to wait a day or two to collect a new camera,
depending on days when I’m at college, meaning
filming might have to be delayed.
If I come into college on a study day to collect a
new camera, this will still delay the project, but
not as long as leaving it until a day I’m in college.
The SD Card is full Format it so the SD Card is empty, or when
booking kit, book an extra SD Card in case the
original doesn’t work.
This could impact my project because I might not
be able to get footage when I need it. This will
delay the project because it’s not being collected
when it’s needed.
When copying the files over to my computer, I
accidently delete the files.
Find a suitable file retriever programme,
preferably a free software package.
This could be catastrophic because I could lose all
the footage, meaning I would have to film the
whole video again. The quality might not be that
good because I might have to rush it.
4. What? Problem How could the problem
have an impact on my
project?
Solution How could this have an
impact on my project?
Camera I worry about paying for American
products because of the dollar sign.
Also I don’t have a credit card.
This could have a minor impact on my
project because if I use my debit card
to pay for it and the transaction goes
wrong, I would have to sort the
problem out which would cause the
project to be delayed.
Ask someone who has a credit card to
pay for the software because they will
have protection, and pay them back
with cash.
The solution could have an impact on
the project because if they use a credit
card which has protection, they can get
the money back from the credit card
company if the transaction goes wrong.
Camera – The footage quality isn’t
clean
Do more than one shot of each scene.
When doing this, adjust the focus until
the quality is clear enough. Or change
the lens to a better one.
This could impact my project because
re-taking the footage could take a long
time. This could go into a time of day
when the scene isn’t set, meaning I
would have to re-take it another day,
delaying the project even further.
5. What? Problem Solution How could it have an impact on my project?
Boom Microphone The sound is very distorted. This could be due to
background noise or there could be a fault with
the microphone.
Test it before taking it out of college to see if it
works properly.
Re-record the sound when the background noise
has died down. Or move to a new location that’s
similar to the original location where it’s quieter.
Return the boom microphone to college and ask
for a new one.
This could impact my project because there might
not be enough boom microphones at college
The battery is flat Ask college if I can take some spare batteries, or
find some spare batteries at home and use them
temporarily.
This might have an impact on my project because
the batteries could fail when I'm filming, meaning
I would have to film again another day.
The headphone jack doesn’t work, meaning sound
can’t be heard.
Test the headphones in another headphone jack
to make sure it’s not the headphones that are the
problem. If it’s the headphone jack, ask college for
another recorder, and test it before leaving
college.
This could have an impact on the project because
it could happen during filming, meaning filming
would have to be delayed.
6. What? Problem Solution How could it have an impact
on my project?
Power The lighting doesn’t work. This could be caused by
a power cut, a blown bulb or faulty wiring.
Before taking lights out of college, test them first
to make sure they work. Ask a tutor to be there as
a safety precaution in case it’s the wiring that’s
faulty.
This could have an impact on my project because
the lighting could go out during filming, meaning
filming would have to be delayed.
When working on a computer/laptop, the power
could cut out unexpectedly. This could be because
of a power cut or fault with the hardware. Also,
this will cut the internet out.
Make sure my laptop is fully charged so I can use it
without it being plugged in, and bring it to college.
Save work regularly and save it in various places so
there is more than one copy.
This could impact my project because I might not
be able to do my work, meaning I would fall
behind. Also, I would know how long the power
would be out for.
When uploading the footage from the camera to
the computer, the power could cut out. Depending
on the camera, it could delete the footage because
the camera might think it’s been uploaded.
Back the footage up to a memory stick or one drive
then it’s in more than one place.
This could impact the project because I might gave
to got out and film everything again. Depending on
how long production time is, I might have to rush it
if it happens towards the end of production time,
meaning the quality won’t be as good as I hoped.
7. What? Problem Solution How could it have an impact on my project?
Storage USB stick doesn't work Save all of my work on my spare USB stick and
other safe places then there is more than one
copy. Save them in areas that I can remember
where I put them.
This could impact my project because I could lose
all my work. If I save it in more than one place
then there’s more than one copy.
Files become corrupted Save all the files in various places, so if one file
doesn’t work, I can work on another. Also, save
my work as I go along.
I haven’t got much space on my memory stick
because it has all my work from the last two years
on it
Move all my work from last year onto my spare
memory stick so I have more space on my normal
memory stick for all my work this year.
This could impact my project because if I don’t
move y work from last year, I won’t have enough
space on my memory stick, meaning I won’t be
able to do my work at home.
8. What? Problem Solution How could it have an impact on my project?
Software I don’t have Premiere Pro at home Buy Premiere Pro so I have it at home, or come
into college on study days to do any editing that
needs completing. This would save money so I
don’t have to buy it for home.
This could have an impact on my project because I
don’t have premiere pro at home, and college
could be shut when I need to use it which means I
would fall behind.
I have an older version of Photoshop at home Buy the most recent version of Photoshop, or
come into college on study days to edit anything
that needs it.
This could impact my project because the older
version won’t work as well as the new one. Also,
when I try to save it, it might save in a different
file format that isn’t compatible with the new
version.
Microsoft word doesn’t work. This could be
because the internet is down.
Write anything by hand and scan it in (e.g. shot
list). This will help because I will be able to carry
on with my work, it’s a small inconvenience
because I will have to write everything down
This could have an impact on my project because
it will take more time to write it by hand than type
it up. Again, it could delay the project by a few
days.
Microsoft PowerPoint doesn’t work. This could be
because the internet is down.
Write up each slide by hand and type it up when
the internet is working again.
This could impact the project because it will take a
lot more effort to write it up then type it up. This
would delay the project.
When making the storyboard, there could be too
many files on my ‘Storyboard that’ account,
meaning I won’t be able to save the latest
storyboard.
Screenshot each box of the storyboard and put it
in PowerPoint, or delete previous storyboards to
make room for the storyboards I’ve been working
on.
This could have an impact on my project because
the storyboard will explain the sequence of the
video. This is something I could forget because I
could get the sequence completely wrong, and I
could forget how each shot should look.
Storyboard that might not work. This is because
the internet is down or because something is
wrong with there website.
Draw the storyboard by hand and scan it in. This could have an impact on the project because
drawing them by hand takes up more time. Also,
there could be some mistakes, meaning I need to
restart the storyboard. Also, The storyboard might
not make sense which means filming could go
wrong.
9. What? Problem Solution How could it have an impact on my project?
Techniques (research and development) I might be using After Effects to edit some scenes.
This could be a challenge because I don’t have
much experience with it.
Watch Tutorials of After Effects on YouTube and
practice at the same time.
This could have an impact on the project because
if I don’t practice, it could potentially damage
There might not be a lot of time to practice using
the camera.
Make time inside and outside of college to
practice using the camera to develop my skills and
become more confident.
This could have an impact on my project because
if I don’t practice with it, the real music video
might not be that good, but if I practice using it, it
will bring my confidence up and I will be able to
film things seamlessly.
Some of the research I conduct might not be
relevant to my final product.
As the project/idea develops, make more time for
more research.
This could have an impact on the project because
the end product might not make sense to the
audience, but if I do more research relevant to the
idea, the end product will be stronger.
10. What? Problem What could the impact
of the problem be?
Solution What could the impact
of the solution be?
Ability I feel that I’m not very
good at explaining what
the actors need to do in
the performance, but
I’m not confident at
demonstrating it either.
11. What? Problem Solution How could this have an impact on my project?
Backing Up My work won’t backup onto my memory stick.
This could be because my memory stick doesn’t
have enough space.
Move or delete any work that isn’t needed to
make room for my FMP work. This is so I can work
on it at home as well.
Buy a new memory stick or use my spare one
which has plenty of space.
This could have an impact on my project because
if I don’t save it on my memory stick, I won’t be
able to do the work at home which helps to get
me ahead. I would fall behind.
My memory stick is broken. Buy a new memory stick or use my spare one
which has plenty of space.
This could have an impact on my project because I
might not have enough money in my account to
buy a memory stick (highly unlikely). Also, my
spare memory stick might not have as much space
as what I hoped for.
My OneDrive account doesn’t work. This is
because the internet is down.
If my internet at home is down and my work is on
OneDrive, come into college and try working on it
from there.
This could have an impact on my project because
it takes time to get from home to college. This
would mean I would lose a bit of time on my
work.
My college drive is full. Move my work ont
12. What? Problem Solution How could this have an impact on my project?
Anything related to production Filming outside might have issues for continuity
because of light issues. I might have to film in the
same location over two to three days.
Look at the weather forecast to find two or three
days similar to each other.
This could impact my project because it could
affect the colour needed for the scene. It could
make the scene confusing for the audience
because they could notice that the lighting has
changed.
Filming outside might have issues for continuity

Film at the same time of day This could impact my project because it could
affect the colour needed for the scene. It could
make the scene confusing for the audience
because they could notice that the lighting has
changed.
19. What? Problem How could this have an
impact on my project?
Solution How could this have an
impact on my project?
Location The location I want to
use might be in use
This could have an
impact on the project
because I would have to
reschedule the day I
need to film in the
location.
Book the location
advance.
This will have an impact
on the project because
then I won’t need to
reschedule filming. It
will be ready for when I
need to use it.
The location might be
busy
This could have an
impact on the project
because a lot of people
could get in the way of
the scene.
Try and find a backup
location which is similar
to the location I want to
use and make sure it is
in a quieter area.
This will have an impact
on the project because
there won’t be so many
people in the way of
filming and it will be
quieter meaning no
unnecessary noise in
the background.
20. What? Problem How could this have an
impact on the project?
Solution How could this have an
impact on my project?
Finance I might not have
enough money in my
account to pay for
things I need for the
project. I would have to
wait until I can afford to
buy anything.
This could have an
impact on the project
because I won’t be able
to buy anything I need
for the video (e.g Props,
costumes, equipment).
This means I would
have to delay the
project by some time
depending on when I
get money coming in.
Ask someone to buy
things I need for me
and I will pay them back
when I can.
This will have an impact
on the project because I
will be able to get the
things I need. I might
still need to delay the
project depending on
when I get stuff.
I might have to pay to
use a location.
This could have an
impact on the project
because the price of the
location could be
expensive, more than
what I can afford. It
could mean I have to
delay filming.
Try and find a similar
location that is free to
use or wait until I have
sufficient funds to pay
for it.
If I wait until I have
sufficient funds in my
account, that could be a
while, meaning I would
lose time for filming. If I
find a quiet, free
location in advance as a
backup, I will be able to
film with plenty of time
left.
22. What? Problem How could the problem
have an impact on the
project?
Solution How could this have an
impact on my project?
Refreshments There is no local
food/drink shops near
filming location
This could have an
impact on the project
because people might
not have enough
energy to film.
Buy food/drink before
hand
The solution will have
an impact on the
project because
23. What? Problem How could the problem
have an impact on the
project?
Solution How could the solution
have an impact on my
project?
Production Time There might not be
enough time to
complete filming.
This could have an
impact on the project
because the video could
end at an unnecessary
point.
Try cutting the storyline
down to a sensible
point/cutting the story
short.
This could have a
slightly better impact
on the project because
at least I would come
away with something
and not nothing.
Although it won’t end
at a great point.
Editing might not get
complete in time.
This could have an
impact on the project
because
24. What? Problem How could the problem

project?
Solution How could the solution
have an impact on the
project?
Job Roles Some people might not
want to do the job roles
I’ve given them.
This could have an
impact on the project
because it could take
time to re-arrange
everyone's crew roles.
Talk to each crew
member about what
role they would like to
do.
The solution will have
an impact on the
project because
everyone will be doing
a role they want to do
and filming will run
smoother.
28. What do I need to prepare before filming?
What Do I need to do? Completed?
I need to find Actors and Extras
I need to find a sound operator
I need to find a cameraman
I need to write stage directions
I need to make a storyboard
I need to write a shot list
I need to book kit out (Camera, Tripod and Boom
Microphone)
I need to book the studio, and the green screen
I need to organise filming days.
29. What am I going to do for my experiments?
First, I’m going to film around college to build
my confidence in using the camera again. Once
I’ve filmed around college I’m going to edit the
footage by changing the colour saturation and
maybe add music to it depending on how long
each scene is. I haven’t done colour saturation
before so this is something new for me to try.
After I’ve filmed around college, I’m going to do
experiments which potential scenes that I might
include in my music video. For this, I will need to
use the studio and the green screen, and other
locations to see if they will work. Once I have
collected the footage I will edit it in premier, and
then I will make a decision whether it will work
in the video or not.
30. How will I film my video?
I will film/record my video using the camera
31. How will I edit my music video?
I will edit my music video using
Premiere Pro, Photoshop and After
Effects.
33. Experiment 1 – Testing the camera
This is my first experiment. I went up to fourth floor and filmed a POV shot.
I tried to make it look like someone peering over the balcony.
In Editing, I changed the colour temperature to -25.9 because the colours
before were a bit ‘in your face’. Changing the colour temperature to
something lower made the atmosphere look a lot calmer and less busy.
Also during editing I noticed that the sun was reflecting against the wood
and metal railing which made it reflect into the camera. I thought this effect
looked quite good and I might try to use a similar effect in my music video.
34. Experiment 2 – Point of View Shot
This is my second experiment. This is a point of
view shot of somebody entering the lift. There
identity is covered up. This is something I'm
thinking about including in my music video
because the video is supposed to be dramatic and
this is a dramatic subject which would keep the
audience gripped because they want to know who
the person is.
For the ‘running to the lift’ I turned the brightness
up because it looked very dull before. This have
given the scene a bit of a prison feeling to it.
For the scene in the lift I changed the colour
temperature to a lower setting because it makes it
look calmer and a bit brighter. I adjusted the black
setting to -100.0 to help cover up the identity of
the person.
