Project proposal title and date:
I am not sure of the name of my product just yet.
Main area of activity:
Film
Rationale: 100 words approx.
I have made a variety of products this year, starting with creating a music video. I found this to not
be a difficult project to complete however I did not have enough time to film everything I wanted to
so my video didn’t look as good as I had wanted it to. I think having experience with using a
camera and filming beforehand will help me with my FMP because I’m already aware on how to
use the equipment as well as what kinds of lighting fits which kind of tone, what clothing would be
appropriate for a certain kind of film etc… I think learning these skills will have a good impact on
my project and will help me to create a product that is not only appealing but also intriguing.
Project Concept: 200 words approx.
The concept of my product is to create a short documentary or a short film/trailer centred around
the aspects of mental health and disability. I think that this is a good kind of product to make
because of how much this topic is spoken about in general. If I were to make a documentary, it
would follow the life of someone who has a mental health disorder and/or disability and it would
talk about how the go through their everyday life e.g. their routine and what they do. If I were to do
a short film/trailer I think that I would want it to be a similar concept as to the documentary. When
doing research I must make sure that I fact check so that if I were to ever state any form of fact
through out my product I would want to make sure what I was saying was true. This is important
because I would want to include facts that were true and not false. This is the same for any form of
research that I do for my product.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed: 50 words approx.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?
I plan to evaluating my work by going through each PowerPoint and seeing what I had done right
e.g. in terms of the level of detail I had included in the work such as my Initial Plans where I
planned my product. As I create experiments I would want to make sure that I also evaluate them
through Production Reflection. I would also do this with my final product, also making sure that I
constantly make notes as to what I did when making my product, how I did it and why I chose to do
that certain thing.
