5. WHATWE DID
We experimented with a variety of different exposure settings on the college camera and took photos outside to
test out what we could make.
The first three images were the experiments with the shutter speed. We took a few photos whilst I held a stick that
I would then drop as another person took the photos. We did this because we wanted to see how the camera would
take the photos as we dropped the stick as well as how we kept increasing the shutter speed. You can see that the
brightness changes each time we changed the shutter speed.
The second set of images were the experiments with aperture. Similar with the previous photos we also held the
stick up in different locations and experimented with the natural lighting. The second image has a lot more natural
lighting compared to the first image where you’re able to tell that we had changed the aperture.
The final set of images were experiments with ISO. Once again we used the stick as a main focus to see how the
natural light from outside the college as well as the dim lighting from the underground carpark would reflect onto
the stick. We held the stick close to one of the lights in the underground carpark so that we could use it as a
comparison to the second image (which is a lot blurrier) which uses a higher ISO.
