Structural Engineer
Preparation of conceptual and outline designs for structural schemes using BIM.
Preparation of detailed design calculations to British Standards, Eurocodes and
relevant design guidance notes. By hand and computer aided techniques(BIM)
Preparation of detailed design drawings and specifications for Tender purposes.
Day-to-day support to colleagues from other disciplines within the office
Following some examples highlighted the projects I have been involved with.
Project: Salt Store, Suntory
Client: LR Suntory
Project Details: This was a replacement of steel frame structure for salt store. The
structure was to be designed of galvanized steel portal frame.
Contributions: I was required to prepare the calculation of frame structural elements
along with producing general arrangement drawings and constant liaison with the
architect.
Project: New Stainless Steel Platform for production conveyor
Client: LR Suntory
Project Details: This was a platform for production conveyor. Platform to support
conveyor belt, machine and the load carried on it. The platform was to be designed of
stainless steel frame structure
Contributions: I was required to aid the calculation of frame structural elements along
with producing general arrangement drawings and constant liaison with the architect.

Project: New Build Mark & Spencer Store in Cheadle
Client: BP Oil UK Ltd Asset Development
Project Details: This was a two-storey, 367m2 floor space, new Marks & Spencer Store
located on an open plot owned by BP Oil UK Ltd. The store building was to be designed
of steel frame structure
Contributions: The building went through two major design changes and each time I
was required to aid the recalculation of structural elements along with producing new
general arrangement drawings and constant liaison with the architect.
Project: New build multi storey Hatton Cross Hotel at Heathrow Airport
Client: Regency Homes Ltd.
Project Details: This is ongoing multi storey Hatton Cross Hotel project with basement
parking and G+6 floors above at Heathrow Airport in London. This development
consisting of 583 bedrooms with associated dining and conferencing facilities. The site is
predominantly affected by noise from aircraft arriving at and departing from Heathrow
Airport which influenced the external façade design.
Contributions: I work with three senior structural engineers and two senior CAD
technicians. My involvement is to prepare design calculation for the slabs, basement
parking, ground floor and typical floors above. I have prepared a 3D model for worse
case slab segment and analyse with CSI SAFE and check the short and long term
deflections. And prepared foundation plan and pile cap drawings with rebar detail.
Project: Single Storey Extension at Key Road, London
Client: Pellings Architecture Ltd.
Project Details: This was a single storey extension at left side of the existing house.
Contributions: The site was visited by me and collected relevant information about the
existing structure and drainage. It was recommended that soil test should be done before
proposed any scheme for the extension. It has been found that only pile foundation has
to be proposed due to soil condition. I was required to prepare all calculations and
drawings with details. Two proposal have been produced and one of them was accepted
by client.
