work with community helpers.
Community Helpers- Who are they?
ACTIVITY 1: Read the following definitions about them. Then answer the
following questions. Write the answer next to the question.
-Who teaches students at school?
- Who fights fire?
- Who looks after sick people and helps doctors?
- Who fights crime?
Community helpers are people in
your community that help others.
A Police Officer

ACTIVITY 2: Read this short text about nurses’ work in the community
and answer the questions.
NURSES
Nurses are important because
they help people. Nurses are people who take care of sick
people and help them get well.They work in hospitals, doctor’s
offices and schools. Nurses help doctors. Some nurses work in
schools with kids. To be a nurse you will have to go to college.
You should like working with people and caring for others.
Nurses are special people.
