3. INTRODUCTION
Cosmetics:
Cosmetics arise from a Greek word Kosmeticos meaning adorn. ( to add
something to make person more beautiful).
If any material used for beautification or improvement of appearance is
know as cosmetics.
They may be applied to skin, hair, and nail, for the purpose of covering,
coloring, softening, cleansing, and protection.
Cosmetics are intended to be applied externally.
E.g Lipstick, Perfume, Soap, Shampoo, Skin cream etc.

4. LIPSTICK
Lipstick is a cosmetic product containing pigment, oil, waxes, and emollients
which is applied to the lip to provide colors, moisturization, and protection.

15. EXPERMENTAL WORK
Weighed the required quantities of all ingredients ( except color) and mix in
a 100ml beak
Placed the beaker in a water bath at 70˚C till all the ingredient m
Disperse the colours homogenously in to the melted mass.
Lubricate the mould with paraffin wax 15

Poured the molted mass in to individual mould, fill it top and allow
some mixture to overflow.
And pour the filled moulds in freezer for 30 min.
And the scarp the top layer with help pf sharp knife, and
removed the lipstick from mould.
And, the lipstick were transferred from to lipstick case.

The lipsticks were evaluation for colour and uniformity of colour
distribution.

The pH of formulated lipstick was determined using pH meter.

19. Melting point
Determination of melting point is important as it is an indication of the
limit of the safe storage. The melting point of formulation lipstick was
determined by capillary tube method.
Aging stability
The product was stored in 40˚C 1hrs. Various parameter such as
bleeding, crystallization of on surface and ease of application were
observed.

20. This test is to find out the value of maximum load that the lipstick can
withstand before it break. The weight at which lipstick breaks is called
breaking load.

RESULTS

The present work formulation & evaluation of lipstick was to formulation a
lipstick using natural ingredients.
The lipstick was evaluation through various parameters and was found to pass
